I still have the trail version and can not compile a game.

My question is, can models be taken out of the final game. I would like to include some of my commercial products in my FPSC ideas without people being able to steal the x-files and use them for something else.

Are the models secure once in the final version of the game? Can they be made secure?

when the finished game is build, the .x files are no longer used, in stead it use the other .bin and .dbo that are made from the .x file to render it.
so yes it is all secure

Actually, no it is not secure.

If you have FPSC you can just put the .dbo and .bin in the folder (if I remember correctly) and FPSC uses those. The .dbo is DBP's faster version of the model, and the .bin is also some sort of model I think...

Oh, and if you have DarkBASIC Pro, you can just do this command...

load model "filename.dbo",1

It's really simple actually...

I guess what I mean is, can the models be taken out of the final game and put back into a modeling program. I understand the models can be used in fspc, just want to be sure that the models could not be taken out of fpsc modified and used for something else.

Yes the DBO(the file made from the .x when FPSC uses the file) can be converted back to a .x and then to any format you want.
