Hi,

What do you think is the program with a GUI that really catches the eye?

Cheers,
Bozzy

I hate the way most of office 2007 is set out, i looked at Microsoft Word 2007 and it just confused me, it was just really badly laid out, interesting enough, but just annoying.

Uhhh thanks to ribbon I have been far more productive in Office.

Idk, it is very logical to me.

Office 07.

Time is ticking away.

Flash MX 2004...everything just kinda flows together(with the exception of the help...I actually just got the url for the help and look at it in a browser!)

also, Pidgin is by far the best, yet simplest gui for an IM I've ever seen!

on a side-note...I really can't stand Adaware 2007's new interface...it just looks...weird, and not in the good way

I would have to say Office 2007 because I made it*

*not strictly true

Someone else made it but I had to rescale things to fit for the French, Italian, German & Spanish versions. I also took all the screenshots for the help files and manuals in those languages

Lightwave is messy for me, i much prefer XSI's which is much nicer to work with and quite similar.
Speaking of nice things...

i like the new ZB colour scheme, while for new people it can be hard to get around, the new ZBrush has a much better user interface than previous versions.

@OOlite,

I agree with your comments and the look of Xsi. I just don't own that, so I never really have seen it in action other than stills.

Mainly I like the buttons, and the color palette. Lightwave has been doing this as far back as I can remember. The interface looked awesome even under Win98 when I purchased LightWave 5.0

Poser looks nice as well, but just as you said with LightWave, because of the number of submenus it could get confusing at times. I haven't seen Poser since Poser 6. So I'm not sure of the newer changes.

The Gimp has an "INTERESTING" gui, but honestly I'm not a huge fan of all the separate windows, but that's probably because I am not used to it. I'm sure it serves a function, but honestly I don't get it.

Paint Shop Pro - was unique when I first moved from version 4.0 to 7. I liked the roll up tools, and the way they setup the config brushes. Working with Photshop 7, I can easiliy see why it's more popular and powerful, but I can still do some things faster in PSP than PhotoShop. Probably more due to my ineptness with Photo Shops layout.

..............

BTW, Nice BUNZ!!!! I prefer a little bit of a lift, but meh....

Some of the best GUI's come from Audio/Video Editing. Can't wait to we have a "Minority Report" or "The Final Cut" Gui.

It would be nice to have a script/engine/level-terrain generator etc... gui, that tweaked parameters from a console like this.

Not used poser in ages, tried to stay away from it after the first time i used it.
Also, i agree with the sound editing software, and even guitar pro has an interesting UI.

Reason's interface is pretty cool. It's basically graphical representations of real synthesisers and drum machines (and some imagined) that you'd normally put on a Rack in a sound studio... but on your desktop.

the great thing about it is that you can flip the rack round and manually route all your cables, so you can plug in a synth to a drum machine so they work together or feedback loads of reverbs into each other.

I don't have a sig, live with it.

@Manic
That looks really sweet, and qualifies as the most interesting gui I have seen.

Yeah, the guy who I work with uses reason, and lectures at the University in it. He's quite the pro.

BLENDER!

I'm actually really surprised no-one has said this, blender has the best, most customisable Gui ever.

I just think its really messy and all over the place, i'm in no way disputing what it can do, its just limited by its sloppy UI, just my opinion

LOL @ Van B

I remember the day. Did you ever finish your down-hill biking adventure that was loosely based on your snowboarding game??

I loved that thing!!

Greenlig,
Nah, I still want to, but other projects keep pushing it out of the way - one day it'll get done!.

Eldest,
It's an art package specially made for creating seamless textures - won the RealGameTools application compo back in the day and won me my copy of DBPro, it's about 6 years old now and was made in DarkBasic Classic. In the realm of 6 year old DB applications, the GUI is a work of art .

The 'light' GUI of C4D is beautifully soothing, not to mention the theme of my site!

PS: I just want to test out my sig here, as its irritating the hell out of me.

Kentaree thank you, but i managed to solve it by moving it to my parent directory, cos i think the space in the url was causing the problem.
Yay =D

Ahh you got it working, but I'm a little disapointed. I mean, I don't believe in magic yet reality seems so... real!.

Maybe you should change that, something like:

''If you don't retain the receipt, then you can't expect a refund''

Or

''If you don't eat all your dinner, then you can't expect a pudding''

Just a thought.
