they look good but you are going to have a few copyright issues. The marlboro label is under copyright and if you were to make it free then they have the legal right to demand you pay them royalties in compensation. If i were you I'd use the same basic label but change a letter so it could be Marlbore or you could call them Bad Guy Fags.

Already taken care off, you might not see it on the pictures, but it says 'Marlbord' (would that be good enough?)

Attached: Part of the texture, saying 'Marlbord'

Now you just need to get rid of the Philip Morris logo.

Actually, I would use the font you used for the d and give them a whole new name, (one that doesn't rhyme with Marlboro)

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

Thank god Britain bans smoking tommorow...

Also, why would a box be 72 polygons? Don't they have six sides in this world?

While I am thinking about it didn't they ban Manhunt 2 as well?

yes, it is supposed to be glass, however I will enhance it so the texture doesn't look stretched.

True,,, I heard that too... It was to much to do with the praise of killing humans...

But people... Are there any prize suggestions?

It's not needed to be high, however € 0,50 might be too low, and €1,00 might be too high...

Any suggestions?

Well Fred, Hopefully this will give people the incentive to give up smoking. I heard California did the same thing ages ago? Anyway Fred, you live in the state of Indiana, in the USA so the ban shouldn't be a concern .

I like the name. LOL €1,00 would be a good price, but I'm not sure how much interest there would be. You may want to add this to a larger pack.

best.

EDIT: You know what they say about smokers. It's the cigarette that smokes. People just suck.

hehe lol no problemo,, indeed I meant price

Perhaps I might make it 50 cents... (Eurocents), it's not that much and perhaps people will even buy it for that price

hehe like Mal & Bad too

they look nice, i was sceptical when i read the thread title, but it does look really cool XD nice work

On a different note, the smoking ban couldnt be more welcome for me, i'm so glad i can now walk into a pub and not come out stinking of smoke, filthy habit, so pleased its been banned XD

Cool that you like them!

Would € 0,50 be a good price for this?

PS: This subject always comes up when something abt cigarettes is posted lol --- I think a ban wouldn't be really good for the smokers, they will quite be unhappy etc... I think there should be smoke-specific pubs, and non-smoking pubs... Or something xD

great models, some good work here.

on the somking ban tho, england is becoming a nanny state, ok smoking is bad for you but the landlords and club owners so on should be able to choose wether to allow smoking or not. thats all i have to say on that matter

P.S be careful about put these sorts of items in games, i think you have to warn people about these sorts of images/items in game

$1.00 sound a good price to me

This is better than I thought it would be....however, if you added maybe five more models I would pay $1.00 USD or $1.50 USD. Howabout one of those cigarette dispensing machines. Or maybe a tobacco plant

Britian is only banning smoking in enclosed public places and workplaces, so if you wanna smoke you have to go outside. I think Its good, I hate it when people come and sit on the table next to you and light up, it really ruins my appitite.

And in America it was rated AO, which in everything but name is ban... As Nintendo, Microsoft & Sony won't allow AO games to be distributed on their platforms... [/off topic]

I like your textures but I'm not sure I would pay anything for your pack as I don't need any smoking related items in my game... Good job though...

This is a nice idea. Not too serious, but would fit in with the grittiest of games. I'll keep an eye out for the download.

Although it might look nice, 236 polys for a zippo is a bit much, considering it is meant to be used as decoration. But if you're going to make it a weapon, now that's a different story all in all. It'd be cool, lol, burning people with a zippo.

To be honest, there models are rather too simple to sell, and have a limited useage (they wouldnt be noticed much in a game).

Smoking in public is now illegal in England today, yes.. but since everywhere's flooded, people would have struggled anyway

All most all game rating systems require you to warn people if there is tabaco references in games.

even TIGRS requires you to mention it.
but you dont have to get your game rated tho

I suppose it is xD

I kinda agree... I will try to lower the polygons on the model...

Thank you for being honest, this is also a reason why the pack will be only €0,75... and people can also use it for other purposes/ other engines...
Quote: "

i'll keep that in mind, thank you!

I've finished the open Zippo, however there is no way (that I can see) for it to lower the polys a lot,,, 1225 polys it got now

Not bad....but why is the closed zippo 236 polys? Remember, for small entities the model can suck because it's all in the texture work. So basically, the model could be one box (maybe smoothed a bit) and one cylinder. then you go to tools/Direct X mesh tools, and thats a good polygon reducer! I 've had a thousand poly models reduced to five hundred or so with out much noticable changes.

It sure is Thanks for the tip

I've reduced a lot polys on all the models so far, without any (notable) lose of quality xD

The open zippo is now 249 Polys instead of 1125 ^^
The closed zippo is 84 now, and still a bit of smoothed

And a lot of the other models have been reduced aswell, most of them by half

Still looks good Maarten,Remember though that Polygon reducers can sometimes eat a little to much Poly's of your model.

Ya I know, but the DirectX mesh tool also lets you see the model, textured... You can slide the slider and you see what's going away... In my case, some very small objects were removed and things from the inside aswell...

Ah,I see.But with the open zippo, remove the holes and make the texture True Black on the hole spot's,that will save a little Poly's too.
