FPSC Classic Models and Media / is .dds the same thing as .tga?

when i look in the gunpecs of well guns... in the texture part they put gun_D2.tga yet when i look in the flder all i see is gun_d2.dds? the is no.tga file why would they put .tga?

they're not the same thing, but either will work as a texture.

no,no thatts not my point go into a gun folder then go to the exture part of the gunspec and look it will say gun_d2.tga then look in the folder THERE IS NO gun_d2.tga. The .tga file doesnt exist. but there is a .dds file with the same name.

The .DDS images your refering to are the compressed version of the original .tga; both are the same image but the .DDS has better compresion. Hope that helps
