I almost feel like a fraud posting this because it is the third similar thread in as many weeks, but tomorrow (3rd July) morning, I leave these shores for Jamaica where I will be getting married on the beach of Ocho Rios.

I will post a picture of the devilishly attractive couple when I get back. On the off-chance that anyone gives a rats.

Scraggle (the real one) will be checking in to a plush cat hotel in the morning and he is bloody excited about it! At home he get's tinned cat food but at his hotel he gets fresh chicken and fish. I'm concerned that he won't want to leave!

I just hope the recent terror attacks don't hold up our departure.
TTFN and watch this space for piccies

[Edit] I will be returning a different man ... in a drastic departure from tradition I will be taking on the surname of my wife!

All the best, have a good 'un!

By the way, isn't this an extreme way to shake off the authorities? I think you can change your name without getting married.

Ocho Rios is fantastic! Make sure to go to the margaritaville there afterwards, its one of the best I went to.

They have this waterfall hike as well, make sure to try it after the marriage, they give videotapes of you and your friends hiking up it!

You picked one excellent spot to get married, definitely a great start to a hopefully great marriage=)

Time is ticking away.

Good luck mate.

Wow, with all this love going around, I feel like I should go out, pick up, and get married... Or something...

Thanks guys

This is my final post on these forums as a single man. I thought I had managed to avoid the marriage trap. I managed to stay single for 37 years but she got me

Watch out, while you're away your cat might also get married. I also offered to take my wife's surname when I got married, but she preferred to take mine. In the US, a surname like Miller virtually guarantees anonymity. You can't swing a dead cat (sorry) around without hitting two or three Millers.

Best of luck to you and the Mrs., and the cat.

And the cat I hope.

Best wishes from Cornwall (and from me of course).

Wait... so Scraggle isn't a cat, but has a cat named Scraggle? And all this time I thought he was a cat... haha...

Congrats, and nice way to kick tradition in the rear, I've truly never heard of a man taking the woman's name. That's really cool.

I'm Back!

Thank you all for the kind words

Jamaica was fantastic. We had he most amazing time of our lives. There were a few hiccups, like getting too sunburnt to walk and spending 2 hours of the wedding day with the nurse and then going back to the nurse 3 days later because I passed out from sunstroke, hit my head on the way down and was unconscious for several minutes whilst blood pump from my head. But six stitches and an IV drip soon put me right

Apart from those small interuptions, everything was excellent!

... and as promised (threatened?) here's a wedding pic:

Congrats again, looks like a nice spot you chose to get hitched.

While you were gone, we had a heatwave. It was hotter here than anywhere else in the world. All the flowers, trees and foliage have died through lack of water. Ask anyone, you missed some fantastic weather.

honest

[EDIT] You live in North Yorkshire, don't you? I think I've probably already been sussed. Have you got a house to come home to?

Could this be the shortest marriage ever?

That's what happens when us geeks venture out into the real world.

Glad you had a great time.

Ignore the rumours being started by BatVink about the weather - I'm sure I saw the sun here yesterday between 11 and 11.30am ...

@Scraggle -
Congratulations! You guys look great together. You look a little fried in that picture

Quote: "I passed out from sunstroke"

Good Lord, that can have permanent effects. One thing that a real sunstroke does is make you much more susceptible to future sunstroke. Really sucks that it happened, but I'm glad that it didn't hold you down for long.

Come see the WIP!

Looks like your bride wisely used sunblock. On my honeymoon in St. Thomas my bride used it everwhere except her eyelids. Guess what got grotesquely sunburned on day one. Consequently, in all of our honeymoon pictures she is wearing humongous sunglasses to conceal the condition.

Don't take this offensively Scraggle, but you look a bit like Jason Statham. I don't know why that would offend you, I just said that in case you hate Guy Ritchie or Luc Besson movies

Congrats! Man, everyone is getting married, if my girlfriend wanders onto TGC I'm going to get that thousand-yard stare out of her, lol.
