They are good the first couple of times through, can't say i'm a huge fan but they are interesting enough to watch when on tv.

I really like them. They aren't quite classic timeless comedy, but unlike most comedy coming from the US Austin Powers is rather good.

Mike Myers is light years ahead of most American comedians. Maybe because he's Canadian and of British ascent?

PS - Just so I don't get mobbed by all the US folks, I must say that Jim Carrey and Ben Stiller are both pretty good. Just keep anything with Will Ferrell (which _has_ to be the most unfunny man in the galaxy) or Tim Allen well away from me!

It's the same formula repeated each film, with a few twists.

But is alright for a laugh

Never seen any of them except for about 20 seconds of the very beginning of one, after which i was disgusted and bored with it so watched something more entertaining.

Ever seen Mike Myers on Wack-a-day (or whatever the hell it was called)? He must have been visiting relatives in the UK or something (think it was Liverpool), but basically he appeared on this daft (but really famous for my age) kids program for a while. I couldn't even remember him being in it (think it was the one with Roland Rat in it, and he was like mega-famous at the time) but a before they were famous type program showed it.

Mike went on to become a superstar, and the star of the show (Timmy Mallet) became really quite famous for kids in the UK for a while, created that remake of the itsy bitsy bikini song, then totally vanished. Thank God. Because the guy was a complete ****. And then about a year ago he came on a local radio station as a guest presenter and was *exactly* the same as he always had been. Even with his bloody mallet and everything. Idiot...

So I Married an Axe Murderer...

That's the best Mike Myers film IMO.

Yeah, that was a great film. Got it on DVD. Might watch it again now... I just loved it when he decided she was not a murderer and then she started singing that song at their wedding which the papers said was the song the murderer sang. Didn't she also do it in Russian or something, which the papers said the murderer was fluent in? Brilliant.

Cheers

Yeah, it's a great movie - so many people have never heard of it though. I just love the Scotch dad though, apparantly based on Mikes experience of Edinburgh and his dad - he's pretty spot on for a 50-something Scottish bloke it has to be said. People who have never heard of it need to go rectify the situation.

Doesn't he also play his dad too? Was well funny, and you can see where fat b*****d came from.

Yeah he plays the dad. There's so many funny bits in that film, like how the mom tells the cop friend that he's turned into a right sexy little bas...., or when he's telling the girl about Scottish Martial Arts. It's so accurate and true that it scares me a bit .

For me, Axe Murderer put Myers well above the other Hollywood comics, it's funnier than every Rob Shneider, Ben Stiller, and Adam Sandler movie put together.

Yeah, it was good. Could have done without the poets corner bits though...

Figures, I guess. So, really, the only funny guy in the US is Ben Stiller.
