Coming from a Quark background I tend to stick with what I know best, but I'm increasingly having to deal with InDesign files. I keep hearing stories of more and more studios migrating to InDesign, I'm generally interested in which package fellow members either use or prefer and why that is ?

I don't have much experience with either, but I believe this year my school will be moving from Quark to InDesign for our Journalism course

Quark is losing ground for sure, but was industry standard for many years.
Indesign's compatibility with shop and illustrator, plus its PDF generation is far superior to quarks.
If your used to shop and illustrator the cross over wont be so bad.
No more strange key commands to Place and image into a box like quarks

I'm an Adobe person. Get InDesign. It's pretty slick.

I don't use either, but my mum is an illustrator and owns both on her Mac, from what I have seen she much prefers InDesign, though learning Quark at university and from what I've seen, she's been more fluet in using it, but try the demo if there is one and see what you think.
