IMPROVED POST

Hello!

After a long time of doubting, I thought I'll post the progress of my game.

The game will be 60% thinking work (puzzling) and 40% shooting and being freaked out

Genre
The game has the genre of horror/scifi, you will get
shocked!

Story
America, 2053
You are Jack Stanning, you work as commandant at the american army.
You've been sended out to the VieRom company, which drops poisionous liquid in the contiguous river.
But when you arrive, something has gone terribly wrong...

Known issues:
* At the menu, the "Game Menu" logo is misplaced.
* At the loading screen, the story that is explained there is old.
* In the level, at the crates you need to let explode, the most-right barrel is weird, you can jump right on it.

Looks good, I see this is mainly stock media, Thats not a bad thing, the Stock Media's very useable.

I like what you've done so far, but the name doesnt really fit with the Screenys.

Looks good yeah, only thing wrong that i noticed was the hanging lights, arent actually lit up, unless they are supposed to be off, i would put the light marker just below the hanging light, it would make it look as thought the light is actually coming from a proper source and not just random XD good luck with the game

What version of FPSC are you using? Also, I see a lot of dynamic entities. I would switch them all to static unless they have some direct effect on gameplay, because it lowers your framerate, and the lighting isn't as good.

I placed the lights under the lamp, but it did'nt lit up, so I am going to use a shader to let it lit up.

@Inspire
I use 1.06RC4, the newest thus. And I indeed have a lot of dynamic entities, but my framerate is steady at 29-32 FPS, so when it drops below that I switch some to static.

But why do you have them? Does it do anything for the gameplay? Or are they just there because you can have them? Remember. Other people's computers might not be as good as yours.

I have 2.4 GHz single-core VERY slow graphics card.
The entities are there so you can take tham and stack them so you can reach a corridor at top of an room.

So you really need them, but I can screw it down a little.

Really? Is that just with the v106 update? Because I'm using v105 RC2 and dynamic entities don't have shadows.

for people with dialup whose connection might get overloaded if they come to this thread and have to donwload each of those pitures individually at 40-50kbps (slow)

dynamic shadows can be implemented by opening up the setup.ini file and changing dynamic shadows to 1.
So, a dynamic item can be picked up, thrown, and everything else, all while having a shadow underneath it. Just like any other game you played.

Yeah, dynamic shadows have "worked" since V1, but they're not finished nor is it a stable feature, I've had my test-games crashing sometimes because of the dynamic shadows, so it's not a good idea to use them yet. Hopefully Lee might finish that feature up one day when the code has been optimized enough for new features to be added.

or, just throw in a few entities with dynamic shadows. like, maybe a box here and there, just to show off the shadows.

I like the shadows kind of rough like that, because it looks like F.E.A.R., giving it a more sharp, scary look.

Now, if only animated objects had shadows...

Yes, THAT would be cool! Then you could have your characters walk and casting shadows! But that would be inplemented in X10, does'nt it?
