I like so many others I'm sure, pre-ordered Model Pack 7.
I just downloaded and installed it and figured I'd write a little product review for anyone considering making the purchase.

This model pack features many new segments that will open the door for more creative level designs and interesting game play.

One of the first things that caught my attention about this model pack was the price! $10 USD. Half the price of other MPs.

These segment are great for making tunnels, building corridors, ect. The coolest thing about the slopes is you can walk up the walls!

However, there are many downsides to these segments as well.
Like for starters, You can't place doors or windows in the sloped wall segments.

And because the straight walls use random texturing, you never know what you're going to get in a room. Sometimes the hall way looks seamless and other times it looks like you, the developer made an error.

All-in-all, I think TGC pushed a product to make a few extra bucks. It's not awful, but if I hadn't used paypal money earned from online sales; I may be suffering from buyers remorse right now. A few new textures, some compatible doors and windows would have made this an awesome Model Pack.

For those of you who are cheap like me and don't want to spend more than $10 or $20 bucks to improve your game levels, I'd say go ahead and get it.

Here's a screen shot where the random textures can kill the look of your level.

yeah.

the scifi and WW2 libraries expanded.

with curved walls of basic meshes you could make in 3 minutes, and textures we already have.

I don't wanna get this.

Ah, but could you make these meshes, setup the UV cords, make the segment files, and give them icons all in three minutes? Not to mention scaling and such. For $10 it is probably just fine. And we already got hundreds of dollars of media for $50, so it is hard to complain about their prices for anything.

Vote today and play the games!

Heh, I kept telling people Model Pack 7 was no good. It would be better to model the parts your self and make sure all the textures line up right by uv mapping the meshes.

I agree with what Higgins said, but if you wanna save the time and trouble of making it yourself, model pack 7 looks like it's worth the purchase.

Are you sure you just downloaded the dbp version by accident? (It can be used in both, so I guess there is a version that is set up especially for DBP.)

Best of luck getting it to work.

I want to see that too please. This pack looks great and I am probably going to get it and use the meshes to make a MP 1-3 version of all the stuff.

If you want a real MP7 use, type in Generation X onto the search board then scroll down to the last posts on page one.

there, you'll see the redefined version.
