For a minute, forget the ENTIRE rest of the game...
I'm trying to create a rather complex 3D/2D menu system (imagine "Red-Alert 2" style).
I'm already having enough trouble trying to get buttons to do ANYTHING - even a little rollover effect would be nice.
But the REAL problems start with sub menus, and the transitions between them.
For instance in RA2 when you click a button, all the buttons are whisked off screen, the main screen changes with the options and different buttons corresponding to those options appear. I'd like to do something similar with buttons being whisked off screen (2D/3D).
I'm quite competant with 3DS MAX 4/5 and i'm excellent with Photoshop - creating the graphics is no barrier, it's the coding behind it which is failing me here.
Any/All help is appreciated... links/diagrams/code examples; whatever you can spare for me to learn from. Thanks!
