You may want to give us a better idea of your location. Unless you have lots of unis around your computer...

Personally I went to a place by the sea in the middle of Wales (Prince Charles went there for his mini-degree), but I kind of doubt the chances of being near you...

Cheers

no haha i doubt any of you are near me. I'm in a little town called etters in pennsylvania. Full sail is a long drive for me down in florida, i don't know how i'll pay for it. I was looking for arizona as well and around the boston area. I was just curious as to where some of you guys may have attened. I'm looking to get into this industry anyway I can.

Then again, going to Uni, IMO, is also about getting away from your family. A friend of mine used to live with his parents, commute everyday by train, go to lectures, then get back on the train to his parents. He had a briefcase and tie for Gods sake!

On the other hand anywhere to anywhere in the UK probably won't even take a whole day's driving (assuming no jams). Luckily I didn't have a car...

Cheers

I went to Bournemouth uni. It's average. I wouldn't recommend it if you want to impress people with the establishment you went to. But it's got more totty than any other uni (actually by official vote, belief it or not!) and a beach. That's why I went there.

The moral of the story: Figure out your priorities.

I'm going to Derby Uni if my results come back high enough, if not, another year to get my needed A Level. It's not that close to home, which is good because I won't be refused accommodation (Unlike Anglia Ruskin which is 20 minutes up the road) and I'll be living away from home which is a part of going to university, living at home means you miss out on important lessons (how to live on your own) and socialising.

I looked into a few different Uni's that offered Games courses all across Australia.
There was the option to move to Western Australia (I live just north of Sydney, on the East Coast), or Melbourne (South-East of Australia), but in the end I decided on Bathurst (Eastern Part of New South Wales, West of the Blue Mountains). It's about 4.5hrs drive away from home, but it was the best move I've ever made.

I don't think our Uni has that much in the way of "Prestige", but I don't care - it's my brain that's going to get me a job, not the name of the place that gave me a bit of paper...

If you live in PA, and if you are planning to go to FullSail for game ART (not programming) I'd recommend the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. I'm seriously considering taking my courses from there. They are alot cheaper that FullSail, and while they aren't the best, they are like the 3rd best in the country (so they say) for game art courses, which covers hand drawing, computer 2d and 3d art, you work in groups and design and build a whole game by the time they graduate you. I don't know if they have any programming courses though for sure, never looked into that.

I went to FCT/UNL (that's Faculty of Sciences and Technology, New University of Lisbon) but, unless you're Portuguese, that's of no interest to you.

I did however do a semester in the University of Ulster in Jordenstown (near Belfast) for my final essay and I thoroughly enjoyed it (even though it was the nineties and the region wasn't exactly settled) - very good atmosphere. If you're in the UK you should consider that one.

I have vague plans for World Domination
