This one caught everyone off guard, didn't it? Peter Moore (bald guy, former head of Xbox division and MS Games for Windows), is leaving MS to head up EA Sports. In a weird twist of irony, Don Mattrick (former head of EA WW Studios) is taking his place.

Anyone think this is bizarre? It seems like almost a demotion, although who knows what kind of cash and signing bonus Peter Moore signed up for. Anyways, I think he seems pretty cool and he represents a suit that actually enjoys playing games.

Well, interesting news to say the least

Indeed, sounds weird, perhaps the two of them had the 'my job is harder than yours' argument. In other words, yes it does sound a little bizarre. I guess they both wanted to do something different - rather than keeping to the same job after a while.

He got something like $1.5 million and $500,000+/year and they are giving him $300,000+ just to relocate.

Please have mercy and use the search function.

I would imagine MS didn't want to let him go, he's done a really, really good job with the 360.

Took it from 5:1 behind Sony to 3:1 infront (at the moment).

I just bought a 360 last week to keep company to my Wii, but admit I'm getting slight cold feet. All this 1 billion reserve for fixing, Moore leaving, X07 being cancelled...

Can someone allay my fears, or should I be taking the console back in the next week?

I have vague plans for World Domination

The 1 billion reserve money is a GOOD thing, so if (or when) you get the 3 red ring error, MS will replace your system for free with an updated assembly (2 fans, etc.)
