Fish are cool to look at. That's about it. It's up to you if you think it's worth the extra work to keep it alive and healthy and it's environment safe and clean.

Why would you ask that on a programming forum? Or any forum for that matter...

I dont understand why people post some of the things they do on here. Yeah its Geek Culture / Off Topic, but that still doesnt mean we want to hear about someone's cat shedding, or the new shoes they just got.

Hey forum! Should I buy a pack of gum? Only a 5 pack though. Sugar makes me hyper. So yeah, what flavor?

Yeah... that is in roughly the same category as your question David

Should I purchase a small red and white striped golfing umbrella? YEA I know I don't play golf but it could be handy for other things, like hitting noobs with.

Minnows are the lowest hassel fish I know. Most are dull bait kind, but you can get gold pet ones (Goldfish on the other had can live 10 years and grow quite large!)

Minnows are hard to kill, they have been found in temp puddles!

If you want even lower hassel look up Sea Monkies / brine shrimp.

My monkies didn't last 2 years

Personally I think the best pets are Guinipigs. Their poop is small and can be composted, they can be tamed and are great characters, you can feed them on spare vegitables, grass and fruit so don't cost much. They breed very easily so can pay for themselfs by selling the young.

My Piggy came with a free baby inside 2 for the price of 1!!!

Yes, buy a fish. Name it Chuck Norris and train it to live up to it's name, then release it into the wild and watch it roundhouse kick wimpy fish ass and rule the pond! And you go "yeah! that's my fish!", but watch out for seppuku, the meanest dirtiest fish around. Well he's mostly nice until you claim territory.

Being insane, old, commie, gay and stupid is just my DBP forum image, in reality i'm somewhat normal. Altough friends and family would disagree.

If you have to ask, then I would say no. Get a plastic one, and see how that goes.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

Chincillas are nocturnal, they sleep all day and keep you awake at night! Most I've met have not been tame and have a nasty bite.

Then put a light on it at night and keep it in the dark during the day. Dang, that actually sounds really mean.
