I've looked but that's why i'm not sure.
are there any completely free ones (except Anim8or and 3d Canvas) I could try?

well I don't know any free modeling programs besides anim8tor you could try the milkshape 30 day trial other than that I don't know

There's also Wings3D, if you want a completly free tool that can do the basics. Nothing advanced like in-editor shaders or something like that, but all the primitives and commands you need to make a good, game-fit, textured model.

Buy MilkShape 3D. It is only twenty dollars. That's what I use and it hasn't let me down yet.
