Hi I'ld like to ask if dbSetShadingOff as an alias or something 'cause my compiler can't seam to find it!?

was renamed to dbSetShadowShadingOFF Once you type this in go to the definition there is a note about it in the header file. This is not documented in the help file, it maybe in some release notes though.
