It was made by Rich, stating that the forms were officially open

I see a familiar face, Dazzaq. I dunno if he's still around though.

Ah..... don't we all remember Google Ad. He was always chipping in right in the middle of conversation like that, wasn't he? Wasn't he?

Man, if I had a dollar...

See if you can find the original post from the original forum. When Rich created Apollo he copied the existing accounts from the original forum over (or we had to re-join, I can't remember), but he didn't copy the join dates over. A lot of us on that post had been there for a couple of years or so at that point (and then lost our top 3 forum posting position ).

Cheers

Dazzag's avatar is about as memorable as you can get. That's why nobody forgets him. It's like a scientific boffin version of Austin Powers.

Hmmm. Maybe two doughnuts. Has come up a couple of times... Maybe I over exaggerated...

No way! n00bs are what keeps it interesting. Plus some of them are actually pretty good and put the rest of us (well, the lazy ones anyhows) to shame at times.

Only a very small amount of people. Personally I mucked around with DB and looked at the forums for quite a while before actually deciding to join the forum in mid-2000 when I wanted to ask a decent un-newbielike question. Was paranoid I would be shot down with "Hahahahaha! You don't even know about the sync command!!!!!" type comments. Wish I had more time for DB though. Been here since the turn of the century and haven't done that much Wish I was back in college (loads of free time)...

Also my personal TV hero (Garth Marenghi). Although for quite a while (probably at least a couple of years) I had a revolving skull. Was listening to too much metal... Oh, and I haven't changed the login name since I joined (slightly annoying as I use Crivens everywhere else).

Oh yeah! I never thought of that. Good point. As my avatar once quoted : "I'm not Jesus Christ... I've come to accept that now...".

Jess I see nothing there. Even if I put my mod goggles on, I don't see any content.

I joined around May 4th in some year (what year did RGT open? it was a couple of days after that) but I know some people have been around even longer. I remember these forums opening, but wasn't there some official forums before these ones aswell?

I finally changed the bad spelling

Yeah, I believe so. I was signed up for both but dropped away from RGT. I think a link changed or something and I never bothered checking back on it. Plus everything went to hell at the end of 2001 so I forgot about it. A load of the old crowd either went to Blitz or RGT. I stayed in the old forum. After becoming stuffed for extra DB time the old forum, and this one, were more social and less about programming and DB. Fitted perfectly with the limited time and attitude I had at the time. A year before, when I was DBtastic and never posted in the general board (think I was 3rd highest poster for a while and had never posted in the general board - that's how sad I was), then I probably would have stuck with RGT.

Unfortunately I have the memory of a small goldfish, so take all that with a pinch of salt...

Team requests are evil!

You cant see those threads because the boards arent the right boards. Change the 'b' variable to something from 1 to 13.

Yeah, I gotta get my head out of PHP for a few days

clicky

Cause I mearly hijacked an old thread . Or rather, created a new one in an old one...

What is Google Ad? I mean, OBVIOUSLY it is an ad bot, but why has it been reactivated?

the variable t refers to the post number, that link gives the post nmber of 2, but the board number of 1... the correct board is 2...

AND... it looks like Rich did fix that exploit... aww.
