G'day

Another day I got myself new Laptop, it runs Win Vista.

Got Darkbasic running fine, by throw a .dll file into
system32 folder, all good.

But problem is when run the game I'm working one, it all pitch
black, very few wireframes shows up etc. Ran alot of
code snippets and demos. All works perfectly. Then I work back
my code, too see what bothered it etc. And it turn out once I
remove matrix that I made from matedit. all graphics shows up!

My game is based on birany moon's "Limit rush"
tutoral. I ran that tutoral. It had the same problem as I'm
having. I noticed I'm using older version of matedit. One of
the very first I think

TDK:

I've tried to find the latest verison of matedit
but couldn't find it in your website as it down at the moment.
Any chance you could put up link here, As I want to try it to
see if newer verison solves this problem, Cos all another programs
that use it ran perfectly fine.

Thanks
Anthony

OK - I think I can dig out a version e, f or g somewhere, but it's never been tried in Vista, so no guarantees...

I like to download the latest version whatever you have, I reckon it will work cos I ran other people programs that use matrix been made from matedit. it works fine

As I remember that some matrix made on older version couldn't open up on new one as you must've made different saving data etc. and you had a program to convect a old version to save to new version

It starting to flash back my memory, Not sure if i'm right, The version i used was 1.5 i think your new one was 1.6 etc.

G'day,

Finally got my game working!!! It was got nothing to do with
what version of Matedit your using, It turn out the same until
I got sooo annoying, played round with coding, And once I took
off SET SPOT LIGHT and everything shows up.

Funny the way I programmed on XP works fine, but not on Vista

Don't know why. Wondering if any of you have same trouble
with SET SPOT LIGHT, while running Windows Vista??

Cheers Anto

P.S. The graphics card I'm using is nVIDIA GeForce Go 7300

DBC works fine with XP to me.
Have you tried changing the compatibility mode to win98? can you still do that with vista?

Your signature has been erased by a mod because it was rubbish.
