the house was the best, the others looked random, the last one was ruined but the small body, thats faeing the wrong way, nice anyway

And i'm sorry, but most concept artists do a front, back, side and prespective view of the charachter in full colour. And don't only do a head, they would have to draw the whole model. (unless the model is only a head of coarse).

Keep those things in mind, and you might have it in you to become a good concept artist, because you certainly can draw well.

I do not totally agree to that however our concept artist does this very thing and certainly makes modeling easier.
A concept is well you guessed it right, a concept!
It's to give the idea of how something should look and there are no set rules as of how something should be concepted.

If a concept artist does the complete series of every viewpoint basically the creativity of a modeler/texture artist is lost.
I personally prefer to get a small sketch with a specific color scheme and work from there.

If you just get a sketch of a head provided it should hint the modeler enough as of how the whole character would look.
The head defines the characters personality often which one can think of a specific body type with.
