You know guys,

Lately Everywere people (especially programmers), physics are annoying, physics i hate um. Well boy's and girls if it weren't for physics you wouldn't be programing. If not for physics, you wouldn't know anything. You brag about knowing all the dimensions,3d 4d ect., Without physics they wouldn't exist. All of your programming languages are based around physics. So next time i see someone say somthing stupid about physics, they better run(or stop programming)

Damned physics, too many complex equations for my liking. Now that I come to think of it, without physics nothing would exist really, everything would be possible.

What an utterly pointless post.

As an aside... anyone read up on Chaos Theory? I'm finding it quite interesting. They should teach this stuff with Geo... *tut tuts*

o_O I do spend all my time reading physics... ^_^ I took physics this semester in Lab Science II... its a 2 year class... number 1 is mostly chemistry and some biology... then 2 is 1 semester biology and 1 semester physics... If you guys hate physics so much I could write some tutorials... =\ maybe a basic physics lesson... O_O advanced if you want it... or I could write you physics functions and equations for darbasic...

Hmmmm... light reading, that.

I recommend for beginners 'Turbulent Mirror' and for deeper reading, 'Chaos' by James Gleick.

chaos cannot be true as true chaos is only in the eye of the beholder

Can i be famous for saying that?

No. Besides, that's not what Chaos Theory is about. I think it's going by a different name now anyways... Complex Functions? Something like that.

Read up on it if you want to understand it.

We would still exist, we just would'nt know how fast an egg hits the pavement if dropped from X height at Z gravity and Y weight.

But, game physics are as complicated as you want to make them, simple maths can often replace complex physics, just depends on you engine - I mean a platform game does'nt really need complex equations for a jump cycle - a more arcadey maths technique is usually preferred.

Something that's vital though, Trigonometry, knowing your trig is more important than things like bullet paths.

Physics isn't hard. What's hard about m = m0 / sqrt( 1 - v² / c² )? It's common sense.

physics isn't really that bad, like the formula above, if you know what it's for and why then it'll be easier to understand.

to live is to suffer, to survive, well, thats to find meaning in the sufferening.....

Hey, If you have any Windows platform, you can set shortcuts with [CTRL] + [ALT} + [Any Key]. Just find the shortcut, properties, and type in a key.

I have one for Notepad, Calculator, Character Map, even my screensaver.

Just for the record, I have about 25 Win32 Games from over the years, all with different requiorements of DirectX and so on. On Win98, 24 of them worked. On XP, 23 of them worked. Not bad if you ask me.
