ok.. Now, ladies and gentleman, this is rottenness.

Gang kidnaps virtual game master to sell his points
http://laranjeiras7.blogspot.com/

For those who do not understand Portuguese, it says basically:

In São Paulo, Brasil, the gang that kidnaped a "pro gamer" of GunBound got captured. The gang's codename was "La Firma" - from Spanish, The Firm.

Using a poorly hot girl and a webcam, they dated the guy. They used a fire weapon to surrender him, and took him to a lan house, where he were then forced to transfer his points to the gang. His nickname was DuduMagik. The estimated value for his account was U$7.000 (seven thousand).

The worst of it is that our policy suspects that La Firma were supported by the delegate of GunBound in Brasil, OnGame.

well.. Shame.

Your signature has been erased by a mod because they didn't like it. Sad, ain't it?

This is a crazy one, one dude lends the other dude his 1337 sword and when he don't give it back and admits he sold it, kills him..

[quote]Qiu Chengwei, 41, stabbed competitor Zhu Caoyuan repeatedly in the chest after he was told Zhu had sold his "dragon sabre", used in the popular online game Legend of Mir 3, the newspaper said a Shanghai court was told yesterday.

Its his own fault for 2 reasons...

1. He actually thought a random webcam girl would meet up with him out of nowhere.

2. He plays Gunbound.

Cattle Rustler,

The guy is alive. I used the past tense because he probably closed the account and is now drinking natural juice around a swimming pool. After five hours with the gun aimed to his head, they decided to free him because he did not want to give them his password well..

GatorHex, that one was..

Some people are actually exchanging their lives with status in the virtual world. I can guess how hard these things are to some people. In an interview for a television show, ones declared that they use to play GunBound for around eighteen hours per day. Losing their accounts may sound like losing their lives..

edit:
some of the above mentioned lost their relationships, university progress, jobs et cetera to the game. Literally exchanged their lives..

I think CR was talking about the name, not the fact that you used past tense .

Bloody hell some people are freaking nuts...Perhaps I should have become a suicidal maniac when playing runescape 3/4 years and suddenly I ended up in the wilderness and someone killed me and took all of my decent items and haven't played since (got too bored trying to recover them). Here gimme a gun and I'll shoot the idiot, because it's soooo right that I kill someone over a game, or should I kidnap him so I can take all of his stuff.

Some people in this world need a real good slap. Anyway, this proves that video games are a baaaaad influence. (If you believe that then you'll believe anything)
