Sometimes PCI graphics cards have to go in the first slot in order to work. From what I saw they recommend a 300 watt power supply for that card. Is your power supply big enough?

it sounds like the card isnt seated properly
try reseating the card, then reconnect the monitor without causing the card to become unseated again.
does it boot up now?

when you say it beeps, make note of the beeps (long vs short, and the count of each) the beep codes have distinct values to indicate where the problem may be located, ie video, memory, hdd etc

Can you put your old card back? If you can, you can boot into the bios, and maybe you can disable the agp port or something.

You need to go into your BIOS and dissable the AGP card and select PCI instead. The beep will be a warning that the card it expected to find is missing.

You get into the bios at boot up by holding Delete or one of the F-keys. There should be a quick message about this on the screen as you boot up.

It's amazing what manufacturers don't know....

This happened to me. When i bought my computer, it had a video card build in. When i got a new one, the screen went black etc. because the computer was trying to load both cards. If your computer has a video card built into the motherboard at all, that may be your problem.
Weather thats the problem or not, You need to start the computer in safe mode. When you first start it up you have a few precious seconds to hit F2 before the screen will go black, you gotta hit it when the blinking dash is up in the corner. After that it lists some stuff, play around with that and you can eventually log in your account in safe mode. Now the screen is screwed up and you need to go to your computers properties and fix whatever is wrong from there, (disabling the old card etc.)
Now if the screen goes black before the dash, your screwed.
Or your computer takes PCE cards.... But then it wouldnt fit would it...

This happened to me on a motherboard with an agp slot. It would sometimes take me hours of taking out my pci vid card in and out and turning the computer on and off for it to finally be happy. This has nothing to do with cards being inserted wrongly or what position it is taking. The sole fact is that your motherboard doesn't like your video card, and if you have an agp or pci-e slot, then use it. Post what motherboard you have and I'll check it out.
