I have 4 characters active in the same room. Is it good practice to assign them different main and shoot scripts?

Thanks a lot!

I'm not sure how the engine handles same script characters. We know that scripts containing timers are are a problem because there is only one, but whether the engine shares the one script with the four characters or assigns a separate copy of the script to each, I don't know. And how either way effects a characters or the games' performance is also a mystery to me.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to test the difference between same and different script performance or FPS. If you figure it out, please post back as I think it's something that other would like to know as well.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

The engine assigns the script to each character... I'm 70% certain (I vaguly remember the code being for next's with the characters meaning no shareing)... but FPS is affected by the complexity of the script

TZap, take my advice... NEVER use shoot.fpi

Its not who you are or what you've done... its WHY you did it and how far you are willing to go.
