I see that my scene lighting works best in confine spaces. I only have one point light in my scene. IF I go in to a big room say 10 x 10 feet, and my range on my light is over 100 feet, I get no light. But with the same setting I walk in to a closet I get lots of light. I was thinking it was some sort of bleed off from the walls so I created a plain behind the character. The idea being it would bleed off and hit the ground. This didn't help?

So 1) Is there some sort of bleed off that makes this happen?
and 2) Do I need to set something in my modeling system?

I attach an image where there is a wall behind me and in the second image I walk forward just a bit away from that wall.
