The graphics are pretty lame, but it does have a rather long story.

Half Life 2?

I'd avoid Doom3, especially compared to HL2 - in fact unless you want to go more realistic and drop the monster part (in which case I'd suggest GRAW2), I'd only really suggest HL2.

Monsters and FPS games tend not to go too well together IMO, the next option is Gears of War, the PC version looks fairly sweet, nice action and atmosphere, and some really cool monsters to kill - it is 3rd person though.

But then if your going third person, I'd suggest RE4, which has the best monsters ever.

We're going down... in a spiral to the ground...

Cool another doom lover

My list :

Ultimate Doom )These are the best games that
Doom 2 : Hell On Earth )will ever be in existence
Final Doom (Plutonia Experiment is the best)
Doom 3 (A bit of a let down compared to original, but still awesome)
Quake (Superb, The original and best quake)
Quake 2 (One of the best quake games)
Quake 3 (Only played it a bit of it, still waiting for a copy of my own to arrive, but it looks good)
Quake 4 (Awesomeness, you've gotta love the dark matter gun)
Duke Nukem 3D (Who doesn't like Duke?)

Vorconan, I don't know where you come from, but nobody has heard of these games around these parts. Stick to suggesting HL2.

@Matt - That is the game that is going to revolutionize FPS games forever, and outsell HL2 and Doom 3?

Really? Doom is what started FPS games, but ok. I've never played halflife though, I really should someday.

It's OK, some people just obviously don't know their video game history very well.
