Ah, that my friend is not true! Not all dynamic objects act as a box. It is dependent on their collision mode in the FPE. This determines whether ODE (FPSC's physics engine) treats it as a box, sphere, (possibly cylinder and cone) or mesh. I think a value of 0 is mesh, 1 box, 2 sphere, 3/4 cylinder/cone if they exist. Not entirely sure, I haven't fiddled with it much. Most of this knowledge I obtained from the source code

I thought...

0 was box,
1 was polygons,
and so on....

It is possible, just go to your entity files and open the FPE file. There you see a line saying collisionmode = X and there you enter one of the values listed above...

Go to:
C: > The Game Creators > FPS Creator > Files > entitybank > LOCATIONOFYOURENTITY

There are the texture(s), the .X file, the BMP pic and the FPE...
In the FPE (just open with Wordpad), there is the collisionmode=X command.

The Static and Immobile values can be changed in the editor...

You can't go inside dynamic objects. I have a vague idea why, but I'll wait until someone else says the correct answer.

yeah the colision doesn't have to be a box, but for some reason you can't go "inside" a dynamic object.

TATBS 1.8 is now fully functional. Brilodis is having its districts extracted to Battle City. Krina and Karin are twice the size. And you’ll see 5 times as many breeds of monsters... It’s Kalspher V3.

Is it because the physics don't calculate the object plus the properties of you? Does the camera ("You") actually have physics properties?

I have found that if you change just the colision mode in the specific entity's 'FPE' file to the value of '1' (polygons), your FPSC character should be able to have direct contact with any objects real surface area.
Try this, it should work.
I hope this helps.

If you can make polygon collision, you could make a chain!
