That's pretty cool. Write your own language, then make your own FPS editor using it, TGC make it look so easy

I'm gonna have a look at it.
I think I've changed my mind about FPSC, it is such a long way from "hello world" to a functioning 3D game that it would be nice to just make something quickly

I would use FPSC, but somehow that would take the originality out of it for me.

Well you could just read some of the tutorials, and help files, and learn from looking at other peoples code, and using the search button, and experimenting...

FPSC's code would probably be less useful for a beginner than the various examples around here simply because...well...it's a mess. Several thousands of lines with no apparent organization other than variables at top functions at bottom. And it takes 5+ minutes to compile

WOAH!

I agree that looking at code like this is no good for a beginner, it's like trying to find your way around the London Underground if you've never seen a train before

There are plenty of good examples of smaller code to learn from (including the tutorials)

Hang on... if you have DBP and can access the FPSC files online, couldn't you just compile it get it for free?

No - lol!

You don't get everything you need. You probably won't be able to even compile what you can download...

The engine is useless without media, levels, ect. all in the proper file structure. And you don't get the editor. You're far from having it for free with the source. Plus, the media in FPSC alone is worth much more than $50, so why bother ?

is that the kind of stuf you can make in fps creator or am i really mixed up

The problem with the gaming community is people think that the resolution of a game defines how good it is. I am not afraid to make a game where the main character is 50x50.
