I have VISTA and I noticed when I play 2D games they tend to lag more than 3D games that I've played. My current project gets 500 FPS in a friend's Computer. And mine is brand new and it only gets 100 FPS.

Here's the Computer's Stats:

Need more information?

EDIT~ Here's better info.

Well, it is Vista, what on Earth were you expecting? Performance?

Be quiet and stare at the alpha blended windows of the pointless Aero interface! Repress that ancient, out of date XP interface!

Or not.

Since the other one was scaring you guys so much...

What are you talking about? VISTA is very fast. And my computer works GREAT at 3D I'm just having problems with 2D for some reason. So please be quiet if you're not gonna help.

If VISTA has dxdiag, then run that from the run prompt.

Your graphics and RAM scores aren't particularly high, which could be somewhat responsible, but I'd probably put it down to drivers.

Make sure you get the latest for your version of Vista (and not through Windows Update).

2.5 is not a good number for your gfx card? What are you running, a geforce 4?

Also, make sure you're not limited to 100 fps on your graphics card, turn vsync off.

Also, if you're using Anti aliasing that would make a big difference between comparing his performance against yours.

looks like the 6150le graphics card is a built in gfx card that is sold on hp machines. No matter how you swing it, this card will never do all that good, and I suspect you wont have much better performance in xp.

I dunno what he's talking about, unless he means the dx9 update for windows vista, apparently vista uses and older version of dx9 that you can update by downloading it on the ms website...

Yeah I had called the HP customer service and they said something like that too. They said I should buy a new portable Video Card so that the RAM that' being used wont be decreased because of the Game. U understand? Well, I don't think they said "portable" but something like that

Heh, that's pretty funny. The ram issue isn't so much what's slowing you down, just a cheapy gfx card is what's inside it. If you have some money to buy a new graphics card, tell us what model of computer you got and we'll be able to recommend graphics cards that you would be able to install.

Of course, installing a card on your own will probably void your warranty, so you might be stuck, unless you want to pay an exorbitant amount to have HP do it for you.

To get dxdiag in Vista, use that search on the start menu and type in dxdiag.

Your RAM is fine, you need a new graphics card, a decent one will run around 150 bucks on http://www.newegg.com

I'm talking about device drivers. It's a bad move to get them from Windows Update, get them straight from the manufacturer instead.
