This is my first model that I have seemed to mapped correctly this is screenshot of it with the texture in the model editor "AC3D".


Its actually a crater for an upcoming game

Good looking texture.

You could maybe spice the model a bit up by:

Making the crate a little less round.
And edit the texture just a little.
By making some cracks and such.


Anyway good looking texture!

Hey thanks for the reply, im going to add seperate tiles around the model, and uv map that seperatly. Yeah the texture needs so more work.
Ran into a probelm when i import it into fpsc some black areas become transparent...so gotta fix that
ah well im happy that im sorta getting the hang of it.

Edit: Here is a test of it in game with a few enties. Fixed the black parts, just gonna have to line it up abit better and it should be done. screenie is attached.

Thanks for the comment shadow, this crater is actually for a full game i have been working on. But once i get abit better at this im sure i could do a few models for the forums.

Looks good acept on the sides and bottom you don't see, you may want to delete the faces to save polys. As there are quite a few wasted polys on the side facing towards us.

Any way I know its your first textured model, so congrats on that

TATBS 1.8 is now fully functional. Brilodis is having its districts extracted to Battle City. Krina and Karin are twice the size. And you’ll see 5 times as many breeds of monsters... It’s Kalspher V3.

Thanks tyrano once I get more confident I will start looking for poly reduction methods, thanks for the tip

Edit: just a quick update, same test level but added a new broken roof segment, few probelms with the true black areas becoming transparent...anyways to disable this?

Looks good.Very nice texture. Not trying to be mean but I didn't know you could display model pics in the Showcase forum. I would think maybe in the models and media forum. Perhaps a move is in order?
