When a file uses another file, the first one has to know the correct path for the second one.
The *.fpe file has to know the path for the mesh and texture of the object.
For example if you want to create an entity with "fpsc entity maker", you have to specify the path for the texture - the easiest way is to have all the files (mesh, texture...) in one folder.
You can begin by downloading fpsc entity maker and watch all the tutorials included in the zip file.
