Anyone who's interested in buying a Wacom tablet, I recommend just go straight past the Graphire and grab an Intuos. I just got one a few days ago and it's vastly better. The quality of my digital drawings has increased by alot as I can now work with higher resolution images. They offer better control due to the texture of the tablet and are far more accurate than the Graphire series. The price difference is kinda big, but if you want to be wowed by your tablet purchase the Intuos seems the way to go.

I hope this doesn't look like an advertisement or anything, lol. I just was really happy with my purchase is all and I wanted to help others out in their possible decision.

I'd also like comments and crit on this drawing. It's concept art for an alien race (no really?) for my friend's and my RTS game. Keep in mind it's unfinished though

Now, it may not be the best drawing anyone's ever seen, but I'm really happy with it so far.

*hugs tablet*

What size is that though?

In the UK the Intuos3 A4 goes for around £300 new.

Wow, I was expecting $1000's...

I've always wanted a graphics tablet.
While I'm not that good, I can definitely hold my own against some others who call themselves artists. I'm more into the image manipulation side of things rather than sketching and what-not.
Having said that, if I had the money, I think I'd get one just for the novelty and possibilities.

I agree with Dink. I have no idea about graphics tablets (I originally thought you meant something that you fix a piece of paper to ) but I think it's always best to spend that little (or lot) extra to get good quality products; they last longer and are better .
I am learning this from my trainers, they cost £25 (which is pretty cheap) and I have gotten numerous blisters from them and they still hurt my feet and they're just crap!

I've had an A6 size Wacom Graphire 4 tablet for almost half a year now.
It is really good (but I don't have anything to compare it to).

However, after the purchase and after I used it for a bit I noticed the lack of accuracy when drawing long lines or trying to add details with precision.

This is probably due to the A6 size tabled and my 1360x768 desktop resolution

I have just bought a Trust TB-4200 A4 sized (still waiting for it to come in mail).
Hopefully the A4 sized tabled will help with the accuracy problem.
I also heard from somebody I know that the 4200 model (or 2100 as it used to be called) is a quality product. So trusting his words I bought it (It costs the same amount as Wacom Graphire 4 (A6) bundled with Corel Painter Essentials 3 (which is awht I bought 6months ago))

I've uploaded an image I've drawn using the wacom graphire 4.
I am not good at drawing, so it may appear pretty lame. but in my opinion, this is my best drawing up until now.

Yeah, Jess, it's not THAT expensive, my tablet's active area is 6" x 8". The tablet is $329 (?) on Wacom's site, and a bit cheaper at Newegg. I bought it off eBay because it was the cheapest though.

@Lukas. Nice pic, it looks good and I can definitely see you have some talent The Graphire to an extent may be holding back your digital drawings though. If you notice on your drawing all the outlines are sketchy. The Intuos will be easier to make longer smoother more accurate lines which is one of the reasons I'm so happy with it. But I really like your drawing alot.

I understand what you mean. The reason why I bought the new tablet was because of this. But I am thinking that maybe I will get the same results with the TB-4200 (this is a Trust product, remember?).

If I had the money I would buy an Intous for sure or even better a large high resolution tablet monitor.

Ive had an A4 Intuos2 for several years now and absolutely love it. What made it even better was I got it off my boss for nowt.

This is a wip for a book that I keep writing and rewriting. One of these days I will be happy with it.

Thanks Agent Dink,
Yeah its kind of an animal uprising with bad consequences. Im hoping its not too similar to Animal farm, which I've still to actually read. I bought it a while back to make sure I wasn't going down the same lines. There are definitely no communist pigs in mine, I know that much

In animal farm, the humans were as bad as the pigs, (or not as bad), from the looks of your picture, it looks like you're not going along the same lines
