By "accept" do you mean you had to use any means of coercion to get him to take it? Blackmail? Torture? Unkind words?

No, no; nothing at all like that...

...After all; what's a few black helicopters circling your house at night? Nothing to be worried about.

As you can see; there is a new BOTB: Archives section, along with new criteria to gain access into the BOTB itself!

I saw it, and I think it's better that you have this criteria thingy going now.

I have downloaded the Alpha Project demo, but when I try to run it I get a message telling me the file contains invalid data. Is there another source, other than the one listed in the latest Newsletter? Or, how do I correct the error?

Best wishes

As I've said on more than one occasion; it depends on how much each person did. The same can't be said for the VBOTB, however.

Uh-oh. Two developers/team can't win the VBOTB and split the prizes? So if two developers recreated MW2 in FPSC, it wouldn't qualify as the Very Best of the Best just because it was made by more than one person?

I can possibly work with splitting the prizes; I just can't promise double the prizes. As TGC is supplying them; it wouldn't be fair to put that on them. However; in the future, it may be something we revisit...as FPSC's capabilities grow, and teams of developers become more relevant.

That's pretty much the premise behind it, thus why I called it the Very Best of the Best. I suppose I could have called it the Very Best-of the Best of the Best....but that would have just been silly.

There's still plenty of time to get into the BOTB though.

Congratulations to Mgarand with his entry into the BOTB, with his game: Virus2- The Breakout!

This title lacks a custom HUD (for reasons given); but it makes up for that with some great action!

I can't find the deadline for the BOTB anywhere. Has it already ended? Is there even a deadline?

Cheers, Jake

There are new changes concerning the BOTB and entering into it; you can find it in the thread here.

One of the big changes is that your game has to be complete now, no more demos allowed. These changes are not applicable to current BOTB holders for this year's VBOTB competition. Discuss here if you wish.

Also an update. I have now added (assuming one exists on YouTube) an in-game video as a direct YT feed in each entry for the BOTB, and winner of the VBOTB.

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but the download link to The Darkest Island is brokenated again. I've been going on a bit of a playing-a-ton-of-the-BOTB-games spree and noticed it.

THIS IS A SIGNATURE. I swear.

Can't really be the judge of anything really because I havnt played any others but I must say that bootlicker's "HMS Diptera" is a great game! Really enjoying it. I tried to download another game, forgot what it was called now... But, when i downloaded it it was .7z and my computer didnt agree with it so I never got round to playing it.

Also, hoping to submit an entry next year, what are the starting dates for next year keith?

One final point, if any of the BOTB entrants would like a video advertisement, then shoot me an email at harriewheatley@aol.com

Thanks,
Wheatleyy
