www.GameBuilder.org

I e-mailed one of the lead developers about my new website, and was given the okay to post a message about it. I have created an online community for game development.

My site will have forums for all different languages and game creation packages. I will create forums for anything not already there. There will be FTP archives for demo's and freeware utils, tools, objects, games created by the members and much more.

I am planning for the site to be officially online as of September, but you can logon before that as the forums are up and running. I could use some moderators for forum topics that you are advanced in. Could also use some word of mouth to get the membership up.

Hope to see you all there!

very cool. I think I'd like to be a part of this
I like the idea of other platforms getting together to share ideas.

You also need an OK from the mods as this is just advertising.

Which developer?
The developers don\'t moderate here, and they don\'t have to deal with the fallout complaint posts because you got \'special\' treatment.

We always lock these threads, and to be honest I don\'t see why your thread is any different.

I wish that people would come along and actually offer something when expecting people to join their forum - like if you waited until the website was done and you had some content then people might take it more seriously. Right now we get \'Come join my forum\' posts every week, hell one of the mods here runs a multi-platform developer forum yet he manages to restrain himself from pimping it here.

We're going down... in a spiral to the ground...

Indeed, I don't see anyone mentioning Seppuku Arts or Ozark Games...wait I just did. (I did make a post about mine for web design comments and questions - those posts are fine as the purpose is for people to look at it and answer questions rather than to sign up)

It's nice you're doing a website with a community, a lot of people do that, just chuck a link in your sig - advertise through product announcements or tutorial announcements. If people want to visit, they'll visit, people visit for my tutorials, I had a few comments from friends, but the community part never happened and that goes with most user websites - because more often or not what you've got on offer there tends to be here or what people here don't need. I mean Ozark Games has about 4/5 active members - and Keith sells model packs, gives them away for free, he used to have compos for the FPSC community directed - my original set of tutorial, a whole range of sections we don't have here on the forums. (Keith, I'll have the £5 wired straight to my account for that bit of advertisement you're paying for, cheers. )

I'll deposit it in the usual manner.

Not sure if Van's talking about Ozark Games or not; but I've found it better to let people stumble upon it themselves, rather than post a "join my forums, please" thread. But that's just me I guess. To date we have over 300 members, of which half a dozen are active (though we haven't had much going on lately).
