I've been home alone many times now..

But lately a thief move on our neughobrood and in this weekend im alone home..

Well this thief came 5 minutes ago ringing our door bell i took my floorball bat and waited at our door if he would came inside..

I was lucky that he dint come in..

Anyways i phoned my mom and he said that i remember lock the doors and i know that..

Also i thinked that if he comes ringing the doorbell again should i call cops?

Should this be okey?

I mean he is breaking one of the laws (Cant tell how i say this law in english)..

I could also film him when he comes ringing the doorbell again :S

Sorry for my bad english.. I tried told this best way i can.

Any ideas?

Btw.

I think we are moving out of here soon as we can.

Reason isnt only this thief. The main reason is how expensive these houses are anyways..

Roxas, if he's a theif, make sure he can not get in at all. A baseball bat will not do if he's an adult. If I were in your position, I'd take two knives for self defense if he comes in. Set up a camera somewhere he cant find it that will video tape him. If he gets in, just dial 911, you don't have to talk at all, because they come to your house if you call at all.

he might not ring the bell next time, maybe he's testing to see if anyone's home. Bat is good idea, and maybe a large dog.

maybe a recording of a large dog growling, or the clack-clack of a shotgun chambering a round, that you can play thru stereo speakers

You can't really call the cops if he's ringing your doorbell. I would say keep that bat handy

Of course, if he attempts in any way to get inside call the cops. If you're a young guy, I would not answer the door, if you're older and look like you could be a threat, answer it so he leaves you alone. Of course, if you get shot or something, it's not my fault for the above advice.

You should play the tv fairly loud so he thinks someone is home as well, but so that he can't necessarily tell who.

Well he knows that im home because there is window next to mee and he was looking at me :S

Anyways i have knives there aswell but im not that bad person that i would hurt them like that..

Anyways bat is good. I know that i maybe can knock him down with it cuz i have knocked some ppl down sometimes when i have needed to self defense (Not so often.. This have happenned sometimes on school)

But i think he will not come in so i dont need to even try this.

Also like Xeno said about taking video of him I have already setupped my web cam looking at our door

If he comes again well.. I have something to show to my mom them lol..

The number one rule i know is to calm down and i can do that perfectly..

Don't be afraid to use them if you can't use your bat. For all you know, this guy will kill you. Keep a knife on your person and use it in case you cannot use a bat on the guys face

Ok, if you see him outside your window, and he's looking at you, grab your knives, and threaten him. Make some gruesome hand gestures with the knife. Scare him off. Just don't cut yourself by accident Keep strong, dense face. If you do it right, I think he'll get the message.

If he is a sociopath, trying to scare him might not be the best option. But if he is an coward, it would work. But maybe you can invite some friends over and have a party or something and make as much noise as you can (not meening you should get drunk or takeing drugs or something, just playing music and things like that). Then he might not come at all. And even then, you can always arm you friends with bats, so if he comes (which he propobly wouldn't), you'll stand a better chans. Or you can try to invite over someone strong that you know and trust. Just remember that if he comes, call the cops. Bats or knives should never be used of it's not necessary. Remember to think first and act second.

That's a good sighn. Meens that you're a good person that have an hart. And maybe you don't have to hurt him. It might be enough if he thinks you would. But if he still would try to hurt you, or something, remember that you have all right to defend yourself. Just use your most powerfull weapon and you'll do just fine. The weapon I'm talking about is your brain .

Try to apprehend him and make a citizens arrest then lock him in a room. Then, phone the police and they will take him away. Good idea to gather evidence of what he has been doing also.

Ill instal my motion detection software and make it so that it starts capturing if motion happens.. Also it will make sound that i wake up.

I'd have a phone by you, ready to call 911 (or whatever the equivalent is in Finland ). I'm assuming police response is fast there, in the US if you called reporting someone trying to break into your house, they could usually have a police officer there within 5 minutes.

I think that depends on where you live and what the situation is. If you're in a potentially life threatening situation, I think they respond quickly, but if you just said that your house had been robbed, it would take them longer.

My sister got broken into a week and a half ago. Two days before giving birth. All her jewellery was pinched and her kitchen window and patio doors busted.
I normally wouldnt condone taking a baseball bat to anybody. But if I found the filth that did this, I would happily hammer some nails through the bat first.
The trouble with our society is that you then get taken to court yourself and you have to prove that the bat,golf club,samurai sword was in a cupboard or in its bag or whatever and not actually in a position to defend yourself. IN YOUR OWN HOME . How screwed up is that.

I'd say hit him it in nose with the bat, kick him in the balls, beat him on the back and stomach until he falls, then get his legs so its hard for him to stand. Call the cops, and if he tried to move, beat him more.

You're allowed to if you are in a potentially life-threatening situation, and I don't see why not. If someone breaks into your house knowing that you are there, especially if they attack you, then I think there's a good chance they are trying to kill you.

If I were in the same situation as you, I would take my dad's sword (not very sharp, but still enough to hurt somebody) and stab him if he would try to attack me. And then I of course would call to 112 (I live in Finland too!).

Good to hear he hasn't come. Maybe he just wanted to check if someone was home, and rob the place if none where there. Not all thives would kill you.

If (and it seems to be an strong if) he comes, just remember to keep your cool. Then you'll do just fine.
