Yup..thats the long and the short of it, we dug a hole in the backyard which went to another add-on and more hole digging and now I have the mini-foundation for a little foot soaking pool which we are lining today. Total cost? 5$ Why so little? Well thats really all the materials cost we would need if we were to buy anything and that would just be tiki torches for our new great pool, and this all happened because we were "bored".

so what did you guys do today? I'm gonna trap a dragon in my wading pool..yea a dragon.

I have totally done that before. Me and a friend spent about three days digging a sixe foot deep five foot wide hole. And of course, we were "bored". Eventually we decided that digging any deeper would probably end with us trap under several feet of dirt and we filled it up.

I did that too. I threw in my best friend and buried him alive. I was to release him, but I got thirsty and got a coca cola. Afterwards I realized I should've marked the spot.

My Cats dug a whole in our back garden, it is cylindrical - wide enough to put your arm in, and deep enough to put most of your arm down it...really, seems either they made their own toilet (then best NOT put your arm down there) or to catch unsuspecting mice...clever buggers.

Not much so far...went to town, had a subway - Tuna Mayo, Cheese and red onion on wheat bread...hung around for a bit, when the pub opened, had meself a drink with a few others - by the way Rum + Coke is a good drink mix...you can't call yourself a Pirate until you've had some rum! And well...now here I am typing on an internet forum...joy joy, might do some programming.

When we had a ton of snow here in Winnipeg I once dug a whole in a huge snow hill with tunnels and stuff but then my parents would let me go into the tunnels saying they'd collapse.

I used to dig small but deep holes in the beach, put some paper over it, then a layer of sand over the paper. Was fun watching people walk into it.

Had to stop after a while though, do you know how hard it is to use a shovel without opposable thumbs? Or any fingers? Arms?

Hope you got the proper zoning permit, otherwise that could be a large fine.

I dig the deepest holes at the beach. One time my dad dug a second hole with my brother and we made a tunnel between them. It attracted lots of people wanting to walk across the bridge and some daring ones crawed through the tunnel. Very cool in the tunnel. We had to collapse it the end of the day so some random kid wouldn't craw under it and suffacate.

Big holes serve as a bomb shealther if you have a boogie board for when someone feeds the seaguls and they call their friend seaguls.
