I'm looking for Ideas for alternate input devices. Not traditional keyboard and mouse. If you have any ideas please post.

It only looks like I know what I'm talking about.

Xbox 360 controler.

Also, this strange device called the Space Orb 360 that I have laying around. It is VERY weird.

Note the C,D,E, and F buttons as well as the ball that you roll between your fingers.

Hopefully not an organic one, as that would be..... mushy.

Take away the mouse, and just have the pad that responds to your hand movements, and to click the buttons you just tap the pad with your finger, two fingers for the right mouse button, slide your finger for the wheel.. etc. Try it on your mouse pad... it feels very comfortable.

To make this work you would just check for the distance from your hands fat palm area, to a finger, and the second finger would make two circular responses. Sliding the finger would create a zone that moves in a linear direction. Basically you are checking distances, and last position, new position.

Guitar Hero controller for the 360, is USB and would probably work with the standard controller drivers.

I made this app in DarkBasic which can be controlled by Windows Media Center Remotes...

You could also right a little DLL to use Universal Remotes
