Robert F,

Frame rate was around 20 throughout. Are you spawning your enemies or are they always there?

Hiding the key that way is sneaky, but not realistic. The room that has the second key also is unrealistic, as it is populated with shelves and crates, but no entrance/exit except the vent duct.

The level is pretty simple and basic. The scenery is square and uninspired. The enemies were not as responsive as they could have been. It's a start but needs some work, both visually and game play wise.

All that being said, it was somewhat enjoyable and you should continue working on it.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

Ok downloaded and played...but it was very short.
I thought the game looked very well good lighting and nice use of stock media too. I didnt really know why I was there, so maybe an screen of text to explain why the character is there during loading.
I thought the 1st key placment was quite good..since you had to search threw and reuse those dynamic enties. The second key was less intresting, even though i encountered my first enemy there. But he seemed abit out of place...why was a scientist knife holding zombie in a small storage area. But once i moved on to the next bit the two enemies just stood there...maybe better placment would solve this.
I enjoyed the level design...nice use of bars to block unused windows. But some pieces were missing on the stairs for example of the gantry.

Pros:
-Nice level design
-Good light mapping
-Good use of stock media.
-nice gfx.
-Good use of dynamic objects.

Cons:
-No story added in demo. so seemed lost.
-Some glitches as no texture on hands/ unresponsive AI.

Overall demo rating: 6/10. Hope to see more alot more

@Phil17

there is no story because that is actually part of the 5th level, no hand texture? will have to mess with that a little, will release 1.02 in a couple of days

Robert, try and start ur demo with the first level so the player understands what he is doing there. Im sure by the 5th level this will be clear, so i understand why there is no story on that part.

I taught the hand tex from mp6 must be copied manually... Have you done it?

Make games, not war.

Just finished, and it is short, but very, very, very good, even though it was a five minute level demo, it still took me twice as long because of the puzzles!

Pros:
*Good Gameplay
*Good Graphics
*Nice HUD
*Enemies arent totally stupid
*Puzzles are Puzzeling

Cons:
*WHERE ARE MY HAND TEXTURES! HELP ME!
*Kinda slow
*hard to move the huge boxes

total score 8/10

nice looking level... it ran smoothly and fast (celeron 1.8gig w geforce7300)...

lil issues with jumping (near table) but no real problems...

very good immersive level...

suggestions...
get new walking sounds... that clanking around the place when you walk is getting old...

loose the 'need key to open' stuff... that is the most irritating thing about most FPSC games... either make it an intuitive part of a problem solving puzzle, or just let the player open it...

otherwise... you've got the basis for a really neat game here...

take a look at Penumbra Overture (Frictional Games) for some ideas for some challenging and varied problem solving puzzles...

good luck...
