It's 5 minutes past midnight on September 1st, and I'm here to announce this month's newsletter - I love it when a plan comes together (thanks Rich, Rick and all the contributors).

This month we have some fantastic X10 shots and a great video, a new Best of the Best award, tutorials, games, and a great deal more.

Nice newsletter as usual!

To add to the back-up methods Lee mentioned, I use an SVN server setup on my PC.

It's quite a good method, as you commit (right-click >> Commit, it's that simple!) only what you want to the database, it keeps all old copies of your work (so you can go back by simply entering a revision number), and once it's in the database, you only have to backup the "SVN" folder on your PC to DVD.

Interresting It would be cool if there could be a Best of the Best for DB too though.

That FPSC video is really good looking. Very professional indeed. I don't like the idea of setting global reraction values though

there's a snippet type program i made for dbp/dbc _ages_ ago. been plugged in the newsletter twice.

dark snippet pro (dbp only)

and a very outdated readme:

it may be useful to someone.

hope that helps

p.s. no real point plugging it in the newsletter, it's old and outdated. but can probably be useable.

yey! finally the downloads for the NVidia competitions! i'm glad we at least had "worth playing" "recommended" and "highly recommended" as a form of feedback (and was cool to see i got at least recommended even if i didn't win anything haha)

At least all of entries are recommended to play, I like that

Funny though how some of the winners aren't even marked as worth playing, let alone more then that..... I also do miss some fpsc entries such as Bighatboy, what happened to it?
