I'm pretty sure you can, but if TDK or any other mod say differently then they are probably right.

I can't speak for TGC, but AFAIK the license is for you to use DB on a single machine and if yours is away being repaired, then using it on another one while it's away sounds OK to me.

TGC are very unlikely to be interested I would think.

Well, it is still here, but unoperational. When I try to boot up the computer, it says NLTDR is missing, something is messed up with the bios but that is besides the point. So if I use DBC on this computer, smae copy, and when my computer gets worked on (near the beginning of october) I remove it from this computer, can I do that? I just do not want to break any copyright laws...

DBC is old now, so I'm sure they aren't going to worry about it seeing as you have a legit copy any way.

I think that the DBC license is a 'per user' one anyway. This means that you could have it legally installed on five machines in a room, but only you are licensed to use it on any of them - since you can only use it on one machine at a time, you aren't breaking the rules of the license.

However, as soon as anyone else sits down on one of the other four machines and starts using DBC, you are breaking the license agreement.

@ Maindric

Here are a few things to try on you NTLDR is missing problem.
1: Make sure there is not a floppy or CD in the drives. A floppy disk left in the drive will always give this error. On the front of a CD drive there is a very small pinhole. Sticking a small pin into the hole and pressing the release will open the drive on a dead computer. (Some PC require removing the front panel to get access to the hole)
2: Enter the BIOS setup usually by pressing delete or one of the F keys during startup. make sure that the BIOS is set to boot from the hard drive or HDD.
3: If you have a copy of a Window XP installation disk, you can boot the PC from the disk.
4: If none of these work, send me an email and I will try to help you get you PC up and running.

For number 1, I never uwse my floppy, and I have no CD's in none of my drives. Number 2, it will not let me lookat the bios now, it just ignore my Delete and backspace presses... Number 3, when I do, it freezes.. I needed to upgrade my computer anyways, I will just save up to get a new motherboard, processor and RAM... (I already bought a new video card.)

I apreaciate your help. I can wait for a month till I can use my computer again. It is going to cost about $125 to make it work, so it is not that bad.
