Hi,
When I play a(ny) game in 3D, after a while the game starts to manipulate the vertexes on some of the game models, and sometimes some vertexes aren't rendered with textures.

Is this a problem with my gfx card? (I assume it is) If so is there a way to fix it?

I have version 162.18 of nvidia drivers (Geforce 7900gs) and the latest build of directx 9.0c (august 2007).

here is a screenshot from roller coaster tycoon 3 (not that I play the game, but I was going to test if it happened here too).

Notice the lines coming from the trees, and the two black-ish triangles in the middle of the screen (these triangles varies from game to game, sometimes there are so many of them it even affects the speed of the game.

I think it's sad, because I can't enjoy great games like Fear, Stalker, Thief Series and Penumbra

The funny thing is that DBPro created games doesn't have this problem.
But maybe because I don't play them long enough for this issue to come present is why.

I allways afraided from a clowns. aww..

Theres probably someone trying to watch you with huge triangular binoculars. But hey you should even worry about what games you can play... My pc has a core 2 duo processer and a 7800 geforce card(Not very top of the range) And it can't even run Morrowind! But then it does have vista placed in it.

The 162.18's were giving me some weird problems in games. Try the 163.44 beta drivers. Seemed to fix a lot of problems for me. I'm on vista, though, so who knows.

Sounds like a UP more than a hardware/software problem.

Robert F,
I think the game is not entertaining me.
I like games like the ones I listed in my post (especially the thief series and Penumbra )

Eric T,
I'll try those beta drivers.
Why are they beta? Is it because they are not signed by Microsoft or because (as the name implies) they are not finished?

I am currently burning a cd, So I can't restart my computer in order to finish the installation. But I'll get back with results after the burning is done.

Well, I have no idea why they're still in Beta. They were supposed to be Released on August 25th, for Bioshock, but they didn't.

I haven't had any problems with them, as of yet (and they did help Bioshock performance, and fixed a ton of bugs that I noticed in the demo).

The new nvidia drivers have been oddly unstable as of late.
Generally if one screws up though get a beta or rollback.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 has had this problem before with NVidia Drivers.. waaay back around version 90+. The RCT3 forums found the problem was deffinately the drivers, and Nvidia fixed it.

Hmm...

One time, with an ATI card I had a similar problem... which was caused by driver Anti-Aliasing. Turned it off and it ran fine. Never understood why the hell it did that.

No guarantee on that working thoug.

This problem was caused by upgrading Direct X to the latest version

then it was fixed by upgrading the graphics card driver to the latest too.

DinoHunter (still no nVidia compo voucher!), CPU/GPU Benchmark, DarkFish Encryption DLL, War MMOG (WIP), 3D Model Viewer

Hi all, the problem I had is solved now that I installed version 158.27 of the nvidia forceware driver.

But sometimes there is black square around an object.
It is nothing to worry about though, as it is a rare problem.

thanks for the tips.
