I just saw 2 posts requesting a helicopter.

And I realised I'd made one ages ago and it was just sitting in my entity bank. It's over a year old, and not very good. But it is animated and FPSC ready. just pop the files in your entity bank.

It is animated, but I deleted the script ages ago. Something along the lines of

should do the trick. I think at the time I was trying to make a Huey, so it has a door that you can stand an enemy in, just set his appear script to nogravity.fpi and his main script to shoot.fpi

Peace.

hey butters did you get my e mail, if not what it said was if you could make a script/animation/model that when you shot someone the blood would splat up on the wall and would spill out on the floor
Example: almost everygame with blood, dead rising, gears of war, etc etc, so a lot of ppl want this so it would help if you did

Oh and dont forget screenie!

General Powel.

I got your email. AND I read you posting the same thing in like 3 other threads. When it was totally off topic.

If you want my help, spamming my thread with your request is not going to win me over. Its just going to make me annoyed. I just gave you a free helicopter. Have some manners. you didn't even say thank you.

Yes but lots of games have things that FPSC doesn't, like particle effects, allies, ragdoll, LOD instancing, making this blood thing is not going to be easy. you want more blood splats, increase the decal max setting in the character's FPE file. You want blood dribbling out when they die, you could add a gradually scaling plane into the death animation. Thats the only way to do it. And that would have to be done for ever character. I'm not going to do that.

Now please. Let the subject rest and quit spamming my thread and email.

Thanks butters

Fortunately for us most of your throw aways are what we'd like to be able to make so this is very helpful.

So whats going on with your 3rd person DBPro game engine. I figured you'd have made the decision to work solely on FPSC by now.

John Carmack said that at this point writing an engine from scratch is still going to be fun for a bunch of people but modding or building a game on an existing game engine and just doing a really good job on there is the way to go.

There are going to be less reasons to go ahead and write a brand new engine everytime someone starts a new project as time goes by. Standards like ID Tech 5 and Unreal 3 go some way in proving this.

Glad to see you back around the forums.

Butters,

Now you know that your models aren't rubbish. They are quite good. I am digging the new models you have been creating lately. I especially like the normal mapping you have been creating. Do you paint them or do you generate them in Max?

Cheers,
Dave

you're probably right, but I want the freedom to do what I want. And there is a certain satisfaction in making exactly what I want. Call me old school. I don't care! Glad to see that some people are checking in on the project though!

I think that I'm probably my harshest critic. I can't stand texture stretching now. Or Iffy UV maps! I make my normal maps in maya with the Normaliser plugin from the Alias website (it's pretty old).

Yeah it was...let me re-do the texture so it's legal to redistribute and I'll post it up.
