I wondered if anyone knew a way so I could upload and execute files on my home computer. I have 2 computers, one laptop and one desktop. I travel a lot and use my stay-at-home desktop as a server to host game servers. I wondered if anyone knew a way for me to be able to load new server files from my laptop onto my desktop and then execute them remotely.

Of course I wont be on my LAN all the time. I know my IP and have an open port. I tried using windows FTP client but when i tried to connect to my PC i got some wierd error.

Any help would be AWESOME. Thanks in advanced!

tightvnc if you're using windows. If you don't know how to setup a basic ftp server though, you're gonna have trouble getting anything to work

right, it's still fairly slow going, but there are lots settings in the software to deal with getting info back and forth effectively.

You won't be able to use realtime apps, like games and video, but you'll be able to start and stop programs, and generally use your computer for general things.

With the software you wont be able to transfer files back and forth, I recommend using ftp on top of vnc so you can do both.
