Does anyone know how to get .x files exported from c4d to play in a DBP application?

The animation is 100 frames. I used X-file export, but they won't play. The object and textures comes through fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks. Here's a picture of the settings:

Try using the directx export in c4d, it should be somewhere near the middle of the list

I tried the Direct3D exporter, which results in an .x file, but that doesn't give me textures or animations

I hate having a nice modeling program, but having to use something primitive like Milkshape just for animation...

Anyone else have any ideas?

Thank you!!!

I'm haveing similar nightmares with lightwave. I have to dump into milkshape to UV map. and that doesn't always work I've found.

'Ooh 'eck chief'...'crumbs'

Your best bet is to bake the texture into a single one, then texture it manually using dbp. im still trying to work out how to keep the uvs, as you can see in my other thread.

So, Aralox, are you able to model and animate in C4D and then play or loop the animations in DBP? What exporter do you use? Or do you use a third party converter?

Thanks!

Im sorry i havent tried to animate in c4d yet , so i wouldt know. Ill try and see if it works some other time.
As for the exporter, i use the directx one that comes with c4d.
or you could just use dbconv (my website-links-dbconv)

EDIT: forgot to mention, dbconv converts 3ds to x

i tried the directx export and the 3ds one, then converting it to x.

Anybody know how to remedy this?

the animation from c4d seems to work with me.
i exported using the x-file xporter with the same settings as you, then in darkbasic just did 'loop object 1'. simple as that - it works for me.

Hmm. ive got 10, that could be a reason.
Try and export the animation as a 3ds file, and see if it works.

blobby, how many polys in your model? how many joints? is it textured? did you use bodypaint, or something else?

Thanks!!

858 faces, 26 joints, textured in paint separately then texture loaded into dbpro as an image.
