Hi guys, I'm already working with Raven and Kentaree on the DevHat podcast, and while I'm going to continue doing that, I'd also like to run something a bit different. Something that the community as a whole can contribute too. Rather then having three guys talk over teamspeak with Raven hitting the record button, I'd like you, the members of this community to e-mail in your own recordings of news, rants, topical discussions, how-to's or even just a recording of you talking about the product you are currently writing, or have released. I'd then, every two weeks, or month, get these recordings mixed together with a little music, introductions and a few other things. It would be posted to a proper podcast site with an rss and xml feed, and intergrated player. It would effectively become an community audio blog.

Anyway, let me know what you think, home recording will likely be better quaility, and with a whole community out there brusling with news, tips and information, it seems a shame just to have three guys bashing sony every week!

Cool, just a microphone and a copy of Audacity. Shove it into a 256k/bit mp3 file then e-mail to audio@dcforeman.co.uk

If a few people want to get together and do something like DevHat for 10 mins or whatever, you can also meet over teamspeak and record it using that.

Alrighty..just let me get a mic..ours is broken . I'll google Audacity and find that, so what are ya looking for? Short, long, because I've been known to just ramble on and on, its actually not bad if I'm just talking, my voice can meld into the background.

Sounds like an awesome Idea.
I would love to listen to stuff like this.

And probably you would love to hear us non-english speakers try our best to speak English for five mins!

It would be awesome, I could talk about what I did last week and stuff. "monday: I woke up, found myself at the computer again. time passed by. I went to bed. tuesday: I woke up, found myself at the...etc"

I allways afraided from a clowns. aww..

Sounds like a good report. Go for it

I'm sure you can come up with something interesting. Don't worry about the quaility of your english.

Ok, only one person has made any indication that he wants to do this. So I'm not going to bother. Community Podcast project is offically cancelled. I've tried enough of these to know when it's not worth doing. Sorry Zombie 20, but in the long run this isn't going to be worth either of our time.

Nope, merely realistic, most people pop on over the week end. If there's little or no response while it's fresh on the boards, it's going nowhere fast. So no, not impatience, merely 2 years experiance reading this forums, and making notes of the threads, and community projects that do well. Two guys who say yes, and one who says it's a good idea but he doesn't actually want to join in, just screams success doesn't it!

Hey Kenjar, I can get my microphone this week, are you sure you don't want me to just upload anything?
