In the October 2007 popular science magazine, there is an article entitled "THE HARD SCIENCE OF MAKING VIDEOGAMES". There is a quote from our founder Lee Bamber about dynamically generating water movement in video games. Congratulations!!

I was trying to find the article and came across a battle star galactica DVD with this in the review:
Quote: "Jamie Bamber portrays Adama's son Lee, code-named "Apollo.""

Freaky

I can't find the article

ha, i actually just received my issue a few minutes ago :p

cool to see him quoted in there.

(exact text, taken without permission and hopefully without punishment from my issue)

"Less than a year ago, there wasn't enough processing power to dynamically generate the movement of water in games," says Lee Bamber, a programmer for 20 years and founder of The Game Creators, Ltd.

HA! I just got my issue; Lee was quoted in it twice. Now he's got his "5 minutes of fame".

Quote: "Lee was quoted in it twice"

Just got my issue, I have yet to find a second quote.

But anyway, congrats to Lee specifically and TGC as a whole for getting in my favorite magazine.

Edit: Found the second quote

Edit 2: Found a third quote. Here are the second and third: "We just don't have the processing power to really do its physics accurately," says Game Creator's Lee Bamber. *and* "We'll have great visuals in the next five years," Bamber says, "but it'll take longer to fire right."

Can someone scan this in and send it to Lee? I'm sure he'd like to see it in print.

Hasn't Lee bought a copy?
If they are using 3 quotes why didn't they do an interview?

We don't have the magazine here in the UK. He was interviewed for well over an hour on the phone!

Rick:
It would be nice if you (TGC) could write about this in the newsletter. Not word for word (unless you get permission) but referring to a news article is legal AFAIK. Would like to read sort of the whole story rather then a few quotes outside the context.

I'm glad I'm not paying for that phone bill

Are there only those few quotes used then?

An hour for 3 quotes? That sucks... What did they ask him about? Plus what was his response, I wanna know.
