I'm a fan of techno, it's too bad we have no raves out here, otherwise I'd be there all the time

I hate techno and it's dumb, so seen any good movies lately?

I'm joking with you...There's some electronic music I do like - as my philosophy with music is Talent+Passion = Good music, repetitive generic music = Bad Music...everything else is down to taste.

Though some will say this entire genre is repetitive and generic - but I've heard some good original stuff out there - though I don't like most of it or even listen to any of it regularly.

I liked the work my old Philosophy and Ethics teacher done, he's a DJ who goes out and plays for some Rave/Techno events - he's pretty good, I'd show you his MySpace if I had it or even knew what he labels himself as. He also has one that's very anti-chav that has a lot of bad language (he accidentally opened it when showing us his music and quickly closed it for obvious reasons), which is funny as 80% of the kids he teaches define 'chav'.

I like techno alot until it gets repetative. Once the same loop plays more than 20 times it's time to end the song or add a new section to it

I do, but I'm picky. Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk are my main choices. Not a huge Moby fan, its more of a pick n' choose kind of likeness. I'm not sure if you'd catagorize DJ Shadow as rave or not. I tend to go for more mellow, ambient types of techno/rave.

when i was yong, 8-10 years old i liked this British rave band called scooter.

i don't have anything against that music now but i kinda realized that i only had an illusion that i liked it (a damn good illusion) Until I was 12, i went with whatever was popular, or whatever
everyone is listening to.

But one time when i was tuning through my radio, I came upon a rock station and i realized that i liked rock music. No one among my schoolmates listened to rock everyone was into pop and rap.

I apologize if my statement got a little off topic.

Orbital has a pretty cool techno sound. I listen to them once in awhile.

Block Rockin' Beats by Chemical Brothers is pretty sweet.

I remember scooter, LOL they were class. I'm not a big fan of one particular genre, my playlist consists of rock, punk, rap, pop and techno but no rave.

I like techno,i thought i was pretty much the only one on the board, everyone else seems to be into metal and bands with beards.

I'm going to have to take offense to anyone calling scooter "techno", its euro-dance, if that... and he certainly isn't english.

I like the detroit influenced techno, melodic and minimal stuff mainly. Guys like Richie Hawtin, James Zabilia, Los Hermanos, Trentmoller.

I like a good rave, but usually the music gets a bit too hard a bit too quick for my tastes, I really can't see that there's ever a time and place for Gabba. I usually have to leave at around 5-6 because the musics gone from cool to the "eyes down, your not here for fun" type.
