http://youtube.com/watch?v=o6ifAAhPVOQ <-- A link to the song.

This is the new pomotional song for "The Witcher" game, the song is made by polish band Vader (not as hard music as they make, but not many people would like it where it now is). I think it's very nice, and you? Watch and comment it.

Make games, not war.

I like "music". I can't help but laugh at the way the guy sings though. To me, it just sounds silly.

The game looked pretty cool.

I would pee myself if I was in my bed, no lights, and that guy started singing from my closet. Am I right in guessing they're German? The music is good, lyrics make me want to go fight some demons. And of course, the guy's voice is ridiculous. Imagine him saying, "We are going to have a pop quiz." No students are going to complain.

also, i get a kick when people refer to vocals like this as "singing" as the last 2 posts do. i'm old (late 30's!) and i've enjoyed watching (and hearing) the "evolution" of metal since judas priest (and halford was/is a great metal vocalist. bruce dickingson, etc... major props to the U.K. for metal vocalists! BUT, they can sing so let's move on... ). when bands like Death (RIP) came about, you started seeing a change in the liner notes. credits for "vocals" became "gutterals", "growls", "unholy offerings" (well, i never saw that one, but you get it). the goal seemed to become to offend the aural sense vs pleasing it. same with the music. and, yah, i know metal didn't invent the notion. punk, and other genres, were already shredding ear drums. but metal made it louder (and faster)!

anyway.... enough about it from me. i can go on forever. "vocals", not "singing". point was made and now i'm just beating the hell out of it as old (and many fond) memories are stirred. heh.

dunno about that. i can imagine someone standing up, throat freshly shredded from the morning's shattered-glass breakfast, responding with "oh, is that so!".

Definitely not my kind of music.

How on earth does he get his voice like that? Can't be good for his vocal chords!

@Jess T: 2 words Voice editing. Most probably it is. But saying that Slip-knot is even more worser than that. I'm more Rammstein.

No voice effects at all, aside from the use of harmonization. I've seen Vader a few times, and they always put on one hell of a show. No effects used on his voice live, either.

It really doesn't hurt the vocal chords if you know how to it right. The key is to not force it.

Slipknot are a pathetic excuse for a band, and overdub EVERYTHING. Effects out the ass on the "vocals". Same with Rammstein, as of late.
