History - A couple of months ago, I played a game that completely blew my mind. It was one of the best games I had ever seen that was made using FPSC. When I made the rest of the Mind's Eye Entertainment team play it (a great group of guys too by the way!) They loved it. We started bouncing idea around and eventually we were talking with the original game's creator about a possible spin-off or sequel. Well, the rest is history. Development has been steady yet slow for the last few months. A video and demo were originally meant to be released sometime last May, but that fell through when we had some computers crash. So here we are, now we are announcing it. Though I will not yet announce which game it is a sequel to. Just know that it is an older one. Go and search www.whatispheonix.cjb.net closely and watch the video over and over to figure that out for yourself.

Story - Not much will be announced yet other than that the story takes place in a small town that is located in the shadow of a mountain range, a range that also houses a Military Research facility working on a top secret project codenamed "Pheonix."

Well... I wouldn't just post a picture of a brick wall and door. It's to bland and bor-.... zzzzzzzzz.... what? Oh yeah about your game, can we see something, IDK... with some real showcase?
And by chance, what is the game you are talking about? Is it Darkfaction?

As I said I didn't have any of the levels on the computer I'm on. Give me ten minutes to fix that.

Though your point is true that he needs to have a better screenshot, but you don't have to sound like a snob. But that is just how it sounded like to me. Now I watched the video it seemed a tad empty and didnt really get any info on what the game will be like or what is going to happen. The light mapping wasn't bad work on the atmosphere a bit. Well I wish you the best of luck and cheers, hope I helped in anyway.

This is why I love the community. Always giving good constructive tips about your work.

The teaser was purposfully void of info. It was just meant to give you something to ponder. I'm curious how long it will take for someone to guess what the source material is. It's kinda obvious, at least I think so.

As I said I did it quick...so that this topic wouldn't get closed in a second. I just wanted to get this thing finally out there in the public realm so that people can know that work is going on.

About the second screenshot's lightmapping. The light in the game is flickering which gives it a more creepy feel. Sadly, that can't be shown in a still shot.

I watched your video, too just now. Looks like it's going to be a good project. I agree with game lover's points and don't have anything to add to that. Well, except for your spelling of "phoenix". The o and e are transposed. That is unless you are using artistic license.

I never noticed that...I will change it in the next teaser.

New teaser will be released once someone guesses which game it is a sequel to. I'm serious, check the site closely. It looks like random code, but dig deeper...into its dark underbelly.

Your onto it...continue the searching for actual words and you will get the game's tagline. Which is a branch off of the original game's tagline.

I can't find any more whole words...But then again, my eyes are about to fall from my head from looking at that site too long!

I like the mystery that you've already created. You've gotten me to spend the last half-hour watching a very short video more than once and staring at a horrible web page (horrible to look at) without knowing anything about the actual game to be made. This will probably annoy some people, but it's a very slick tactic to get people interested quickly and hold their attention. At least until their eyes get tired.
