The Iron Man trailer looks really good. I like how they have Incorporated two of his original costumes into the movie by having him escape in one of his first costumes, but very roughly put together.
The music is good too, because I am a Black Sabbath fan.

Looks interesting, I've never been an iron man fan, Stark just didn't seem like a very heroic character in many ways. But they look like they've definately captured that aspect of his personality. For that alone I'm willing to give the big screen version a try!

I've read a few Iron Man comics and I like his suit a lot. The beginning of this movie is very similar to the animated movie that came out earlier this year. But instead this movie is about missiles and not woodoo magic.

damn i hate when they promote movies so far ahead of the release date... i guess they do it so they can have piles of action figures, video games, & other merchandise ready? by the time the movie comes out, i'll be sick of hearing about it.

He's nowhere near my top heroes, and I really didn't like how he was written since Avengers #500/House of M, and now Spidey has a similiar suit... meh it's got kind of messy...

But this looks like a really good adaptation, Robert Downey Jnr is an inspired choice to play Stark.

What I really want to see is a big-budget TV adaptation of a decent comic, because the stories really need to be told over time.

Imagine a Heroes/Smallville style series of Runaways, 100 Bullets or Powers - omg that would be amazing.

Also, how cool would it be if they made a film of one of the crossover events like House of M or Civil War or something, and they got all the same actors from the other films, like Tobey Maguire plays Spidey, Jessica Alba is Sue Storm, Hugh Jackman is Wolverine... that would be sweet I'd have a geekgasm.

Never heard of Runaways, 100 Bullets or Powers but Heroes and Smallville are among my favorite TV series. The first season of Heroes kinda blew me away, especially as far as first seasons goes. If it's gonna be on TV then it must be something that doesn't require as much CG and special FX as a Hollywood movie, that's when they can afford the high quality stuff that doesn't look lame.

If you like Heroes you will love Runaways, it's a comic about a group of children who find out that their parents are super-villains.

It's set in the normal Marvel universe, but it's on the east coast (Miami I think), so it's kind of a running joke that the proper super heroes like Spider-man and Daredevil are always in New York, they do exist though and they are kind of like celebrities.

You can get the mini-sized compilations pretty cheaply.

100 Bullets is just simply amazing I don't want to ruin it at all because it is so tightly plotted, everything interweaves and stuff... basically it's a crime noir story about a mysterious agent who offers random* people a briefcase with a gun and 100 bullets that can't be traced, and irrefutable evidence that there is someone out there that has wronged them. Like, if someone's brother has been killed, he'll give them a briefcase with a picture of who did it in and the gun. Basically he gives people the chance to get away with murder (not everyone takes the gun, or suceeds in getting revenge).

*

Powers is a kind of mixture of the two, it's set in a universe where super powers aren't secret and are relatively common (but not trivial), it's about two homicide detectives who are in the Powers Division, ie. they investigate murders involving powers. Best written comic there is at the moment.

We don't get a lot of comics here in Sweden. It's a small country and comics are quite expensive to buy so they're not exactly flying off the shelves. Many good comics have come and gone, some not even lasting a year.

Those do sound interesting but not available here.

Volume 1 of Runaways is only $3.99 used (like new) from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0785113797/ref=pd_bbs_olp_4/103-3069803-3266262?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1189703895&sr=8-4

Don't know what the postage is to Sweden...

------------

Actually it's probably cheaper to buy it from Amazon UK, or ask a bookshop in Sweden to get it in.

I'm assuming your English is good enough, I don't think there are any translations...

I started thinking about the fact that all Swedish online bookstores actually sell US and UK imports. I don't even read novels in Swedish anymore, I prefer them in English. I'm happy that I can choose between different prints as well. Robin Hobb's books only have beautiful covers in UK while the Swedish translations use the horrible US covers.

Anyway, I made a search on Runaways in my favorite bookstore and found plenty of them. Funny thing, the one I'm looking at is released in New York, UK!
