Quite a while ago I saw this demo, not made in DarkBASIC, which procedurally generated all the textures and models so it was less than a MB big, but still looked incredible good. I believe there was also some vertex manipulation stuff in it too.

There was also a YouTube video or something of it for thoes with slow computers..about 7 minutes or something.

I've searched around, but I can't find the thread...does anyone know where it is? Thank you

-Jeff

It's a demo made by a group called farbrausch, can't remember the name of the demo though.

It means that the textures are created on the fly by code.

Spore uses procedural stuff to create everything like models, animations, textures, planets and a whole galaxy. Because with procedural stuff you can get like a million to 1 compression (can't remember exactly) what anyone creates can be uploaded to a server and then downloaded to other players to populate their universe on their computer. I can't wait to try it out.

You do need a fairly beefy graphics card to run Debris mind.
KKrieger (the FPS game they also made) takes up far less power, and is playable on any card from the GeForce 6-Series or Radeon X-Series onward at a decent 30fps+

And also has great graphics. Just a shame that it's so short, and a bit buggy.

For 96K, a bit short and buggy is more than livable!

Lol wow, for a laptop, my computer runs it pretty smooth, only a little lag here and there.
