See how well you can do. Post your answers in corresponding order to the questions. The true answers shall be shown on Sunday 16th. If you do see the answer, do not post about it until after Sunday. Just relax in contentment in the fact that you are not an idiot and that by waiting, you can make much more people look like fools.
Every single question has an answer and the answer is not "its impossible" or anything like that. Do try and answer these questions. I'l be amazed if anyone gets 100%. Do not edit your answers and try not to look at other peoples code snippets as this defeats the point.

1: Some months have thirty days, some have thirty-one, how many months have twenty-eight days?

2: If a doctor gave you 3 pills and told you to take them every half hour, how long would they last?

3: In your country, the currency in coins is jelu. The various coins are 1j, 2j, 5j, 10j pieces. You have two coins in your pocket which add up to 7 jelu. One is not a 5j coin. What are the two coins?

4:A farmer has 17 sheep. All but nine died. How many did he have left?

5: If you only had one match and entered a dark room where there was a oil heater and an oil lamp and some kindling wood, which would you light first?

6: A man builds a house with 4 sides. Each side has a southern exposure. A big bear comes by. What colour was the bear?

7: How many animals of each species did Moses take aboard the Ark?

8: If you drove a bus with 43 people on it from Moscow and you stopped at Berlin and 5 people got off and 10 got on and then later stopped at Brussels and 12 people got off and 2 got on and then drove to Paris and finished the journey there, what was the drivers name?

Good luck! (You'll need it)

Code, good idea

Edit: I object to question 7 as it's heavily based on information rather than intelligence. Not everyone has the information to work on to make the correct answer.

This was... sadly disapointing. All of these I have recently found on the internet. All of them are relatively simple.

I was just speaking for every non-christian here, altough some non-chistians might know the answer, there are people who won't touch other religions for various belief-related reasons, and therefore probably don't know the answer.

If it makes them "stupid" or not for their wrong answer...is debatable, but we won't have that debate here. It usually doesn't go well.

I don't think this has to do with stupidity anyway, both the answers I got wrong was because of lack of observation, not cos I'm stupid (or so I'd like to think)

I just answered in my head and then looked at peoples answers. Here's what I thought though:

So I would have missed 2, 5, and 7, and I don't know if 4 is right.

Seems like question 2 is getting the widest variety of answers.

I would say 30. But logically, when the doctor said "every", my mind said 1 per 30 minutes so then I would say 1.5 hours.

But looking at the tricky side of the question, I would say they would last 0 minutes because they wouldn't last at all.

That one could go many directions.

The doctor question is one hour.

pill 1 - 30mins - pill 2 - 30mins - pill 3

the trick is you expect to do the math 3 x 30min = 1.5hrs but thats wrong you're right they are all trick questions

any others you want explaining?

Surely the effect of the pills would last 1.5 hrs.

Yeah but it didn't ask how long the effect of the pills will last it just asked how long they (pills) will last. Ticky wording

More like vague wording.

Yea, these were all easy, except for number six, which confused me because of the wording of "southern exposure". That phrase didn't point to the fact that he was at the north pole at all... =(. Am I the only one that thought this?

What threw me off is the fact that noone lives there....or could for a longer period of time, lol. oh, except santa ofcourse.

But my mind was tuned to realism and not hypothetical situations, so i didn't get the answer. A man builds a house at the exact north pole....doesn't sound likely. It IS possible, but it would require more then one man i think.

Yes if the doctor said "Take one now".

But he could have waited 30 minutes to start taking them.

30 min - pill 1 - 30 min - pill 2 - 30 min - pill 3

and they would still only last 1 hour from when he started taking them

agreed it's very vague wording but 1 hour is the commonly accepted answer across this great world wide web we have...

2: If a doctor gave you 3 pills and told you to take them every half hour, how long would they last?

Note the the doctor does not say "take one every half hour" thus you take all 3 at once. He doesn't say to take them now so you must wait 30 min before you take them. Since you take all they only last 30 min, how long the effect of the pills last we don't know, they could last for hours or days or the rest of your life for all we know.

Sorry, I was a little stupid. It's just I've been making a riddle game recently and have found all of these in my search for ultimate confusion.
The pill thing is interesting. The answer could be anything from one hour to forever (I.e the person dies, though this seems a little silly).

Ah but did I say take one every half hour?
these questions are commonly used before GCSE exams to make the student read the question more carefully.

Ah but with other peoples reasoning of the answer being 1 hour: 1 at the start, 1 at half past, 1 on the hour, along with yours of me not saying how many per half an hour, would it be instantaneous or would it be half an hour?

Well, it would be a fish becasue he said if a fish lived on land not if what is at the moment called a fish lived on land.
